Festivities underway in advance of Dallas' dueling Trump-Beto rallies

Trump's coming to town and the action is already underway.

President Donald Trump will appear at a campaign rally at American Airlines Center on October 17, and 24 hours in advance, there's a handful of people camped out on the sidewalk outside the venue.

Trump is in Dallas to rally the troops, but his event is not the only one in town.

Democratic Presidential candidate Beto O'Rourke has scheduled a dueling event called the Rally Against Fear, which will take place in Grand Prairie, calling it "an opportunity to stand up what we believe in: a country defined not by fear, but by hope, ambition, aspiration and our willingness to work together, despite the differences, to make sure that we achieve them."

The O'Rourke rally takes place at the Theatre at Grand Prairie at 6 pm. Trump's rally begins at 7 pm.

1. Unless folks attend the Beto rally in direct response to the Trump rally...

...this won't be a good look for Beto, given his declining poll numbers.

2. Nonsense. Beto's rally is going to feature 7 of the candidates running for the

nomination for the Texas Senate seat and show that Texas is unified to take on Trump and assert itself as America's newest battleground state.

Oh and the 1st poll released post-debate shows Beto improving his numbers and leading Mayor Pete, if you're someone who need to look at polls to determine who should be allowed to talk or not.

3. I genuinely hope that's the case. I like Beto, and being an IT guy, the fact that he...

...was in CdC makes me like him even more. I just don't see his campaign taking off. But, there's still a lot of time until Iowa, so we'll see. I'm not against any of the candidates per se. I'm just being super, ultra pragmatic and am going with who I think can beat Trump, but I'm 100% a Yellow Dog. For sure.
