Hillary Clinton appears to suggest Russians are 'grooming' Tulsi Gabbard for third-party run

https://www.cnn.com/2019/10/18/politics/hillary-clinton-tulsi-gabbard/index.html

By Dan Merica, CNN Updated 12:01 PM ET, Fri October 18, 2019

(CNN) Former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton said Friday the Russians are currently "grooming" a Democrat running in the presidential primary to run as a third-party candidate and champion their interests.

The comment appears to be directed at Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, who has been accused of being cozy with Russia in the past.
"I'm not making any predictions, but I think they've got their eye on somebody who is currently in the Democratic primary and are grooming her to be the third-party candidate," Clinton said, speaking on a podcast with former Obama adviser David Plouffe. "She's the favorite of the Russians."

Clinton never names Gabbard, but there are only five women running for President -- Gabbard, California Sen. Kamala Harris, Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar and author Marianne Williamson -- and none of the other woman have been accused of being boosted by Russia.

"They have a bunch of sites and bots and other ways of supporting her so far," Clinton said.

Gabbard and her spokespeople did not respond to questions from CNN.

"If the nesting doll fits," Clinton spokesman Nick Merrill said when asked if the former secretary of state was referring to Gabbard.

who are already promising to once again refuse to vote for the Democratic nominee. Last time those were about 24% of his primary support. Of that @24%, 12% voted for Trump directly, 2% refused to vote, and the rest voted third party.

His support is significantly less this time, but those who've left are mostly from the other 3/4 of good Democrats who voted Democrat and are very unhappy at the role he played in the disastrous loss to Trump and the Republicans. It is established of course, that Russia used him and his supporters to make that happen.

A technique that worked powerfully, and our intelligence services say is being repeated. I'd love to know what Hillary does. She's extremely well connected, of course.

I ask this question inquisitively. Granted, in most issues I am pretty far left and I know not all democrats are as left as I am nor do they consider themselves liberal. Regardless does Gabbard really have that much appeal to play spoiler?

Those who have seen my post will know this is no defense of Gabbard. I've been censored many times for expressing my profound distaste for her.

and other dissidents with Trump's populist right to permanently overthrow the majority who elected Obama twice and Hillary once. Gabbard's "weirdly contrived" mix just happens to have something for everyone Putin's trying to pull together. It might be that she'd just be a first step, with another leader taking over later, Trump or ? or LW, as long as we were smashed and the far right ascendant.

And even without that little scheme, with the backing of the enormous forces of our enemies foreign and domestic, anyone can be built into a threat in this era when our nation is won and lost by razor-thin margins. They might find it best to run me with a bag over my head (not another old blonde?!), but I'm sure they could make me into a usable third-party leader. Just look at that whackjob Stein.

Hillary's warning provides more form to what we already knew was happening. I'm absolutely sure she has far more solid information from her connections than she's revealing.
