Biden unveils 51 endorsements by supporters in Massachusetts

Article from WMUR-TV in Manchester NH:

https://www.wmur.com/article/biden-unveils-51-endorsements-by-supporters-in-neighboring-massachusetts/29516902#

Former Vice President Joe Biden has won the backing of 51 current and former Massachusetts officials who will work on his behalf not only in their home state, but also in neighboring New Hampshire, the first-in-the-nation primary state.

The Massachusetts primary is scheduled for March 3, 2020, which will be “Super Tuesday” about three weeks after the likely – although not yet official – date of the New Hampshire primary.

A campaign spokesperson said that while the endorsers are from Massachusetts and will work on Biden's behalf there, “They will also use their strong networks on the ground to support the campaign’s field organizing efforts and ground game in New Hampshire.”

Massachusetts state Sen. Marc Pacheco heads the list of endorsements for Biden, along with state Reps. Claire Cronin, Paul Donato, John Rogers, Carole Fiola, Jerry Parisella, Thomas Walsh, Brian Ashe, Richard Haggerty and Kathleen LaNatra.

They join U.S. [Representative] Stephen Lynch, who has represented much of Boston and its southern suburbs for 18 years and has supported Biden since he announced his presidential candidacy in April.

I filled in the word representative in that last paragraph because the article omitted it.

The first thing we could do, of course, is pray for a miracle. Maybe the Democrats will nominate one of the five B’s or the K: Biden, Buttigieg, Booker, Bennet, Bullock or Klobuchar.

These candidates are pluralists, not purists. They make many voters who disagree with them feel heard and respected. They practice the craft of politics, building majority coalitions to get things done.

If the party nominated one of those six, you really could see the Democrats gather progressives and moderates into an enduring majority coalition as the Republicans recede into old, white, rural obsolescence. You could see movement on a range of issues where large majorities are already stacked on one side: guns, climate change, reducing income inequality, expanding health coverage.
