...our bank took off a half-point because we increased our down payment AND we got a reduced interest rate, too. My wife and I have both of our checking accounts with the bank we used and a few IRAs. I'm not a politician (or wasn't back then) and that certainly wasn't a "sweetheart deal". Banks DO routinely give "preferred" interest rates to good customers, but NOT because they expect anything in return.

Just recently, when I was making my 2019 RMD on my IRAs, my banker noticed the size of our saving accounts. He converted them from accounts making just 0.3% interest to 1.5% interest. NOT "sweetheart deals".

Ooooh, their executives contributed $21,000 "over they years"! How many years, five? That would be $4000 a year by executiveS, a few hundred each? I gave our mayoral candidate $200 twice in the last few years, I'm retired and NOT looking for any "sweetheart deals".

C'mon, you've got an issue with Dodd just like you had an issue with Clinton.
