Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumWhat's with all the Gabbard ads? When will DU officially disclaim her?

A decision needs to be made soon (I should clarify: I "hope" so, for the good of this forum). It feels divisive to continue including her as a legit Democrat given her recent positions, her appearances on Trump TV, and especially, her questioning the legitimacy of the impeachment inquiry.
Not only that, but many of us are seeing nothing but "Tulsi" ads at the top of our screens (yes, I happily donate to DU if I weren't forced to join PayPal, but I refuse to support that organization, and it's beside the point). IMO it's dangerous for these ads to be on our forum. They attempt to legitimize and normalize her. Anyone mildly paying attention can see that she's not normal.
Finally, all of us who dare to speak out on the subject are technically breaking the DU rules not to bash a Dem public figure. I fully support this rule under normal circumstances. Again, Gabbard is anything but normal. She's already announced she's not seeking reelection; which is strong evidence that she does plan to run as a 3rd party candidate. We all know the danger that poses.
At the risk of being flamed by fellow DUers, and even flagged or removed from my beloved DU, I'm asking the moderators to denounce Gabbard and stop posting her ads.
On edit: Thanks for the many tips about getting rid of ads. I should have been clearer that my complaint was not about ads per se, more a concern that no other candidates seem to have ads on this site--none that I've seen anyway, only her. And I found a way to donate to DU without using paypal, so thanks!! I'm really grateful for this forum; it's crazy out there.

(5,812 posts)...I would like to see ads and info because I want to be able to recognize her lies and bullshit when I see it elsewhere -- when she attempts to split the Dems to let Trump take the 2020 election.

(23,295 posts)Bugs the crap out of me to see Tulski ads on Free Speech TV too. I dont see any other candidates on that channel. If she runs 3rd party, especially then, she should not have ads on DU. Theres a reason she is buying space here and we should pay attention.

(4,656 posts)It's your choice not to be a star member, so you're seeing the ads by choice. That's fine, but remember that many of us have no idea what ads you're talking about.

(25,428 posts)As for disclaiming Gabbard, she's running for president as a Democrat in the Democratic primaries. We may disagree with some of her methods and stances on the issues (I certainly do), but party affiliation is in part self-selected, and it's a big tent.

(6,568 posts)They use Google ads, which are tailored to YOUR browsing habits.
If I hit DU without logging in, I mostly see musical instrument and electronics ads (because thats the majority of my browsing).
If you research Tulsi a lot, youll see Tulsi ads.

(1,165 posts)Additionally, she is using those ads to buy the support she needs to qualify for the debates. Those new debate rules have distorted fundraising this cycle.
I see ads for republican causes and issues from time to time. It just means we are in the "political" box in an algorithm someplace.

(102,119 posts)jury re: Gabbard, SOMEONE is monitoring this site or she has more supporters than I can explain. They surely seem to have a hair-trigger in terms of tolerating criticism. I don't think my own parents were ever THAT defensive of me.

(2,187 posts)She's the 2020 Jill Stein ,.aka 3rd party disruptor. Spanky can't win without one. It'll be interesting to see if he goes after and attacks her when she's running again him! She'll drop out of Dems and run 3rd party very soon. It's all but a given at this point. I get my posts deleted about her frequently but that's because I know she's not a real Democrat and cant look at her as such. Great post,.OP!

Also, I REC this but I think until TG announces she's running for 3rd party that it's too soon to officially treat her as such.
That said.. I'm in her district and am so grateful she's Not running for her seat again.. This is like a miracle!
ETA.. yeah "click on the ads" and learn more about her LIES!
