(73 posts)Give up this doomed and hopeless presidential campaign. Do what is right for your country, your party, and your family.

(73 posts)It makes perfect sense, unless he fears he will lose. His national campaign has gotten no traction and is going nowhere.

(112,229 posts)Withdrawing at this point would put the label of "quitter" on O'Rourke which would follow him forever. Beto is not a quitter.
I also don't see you advocating for other candidates to quit. Are you concerned that one of your favorites might lose and are hoping that eliminating the competition might help?

(73 posts)and doing what is best for your nation and party by challenging a Senator who wants no restrictions on guns and has other asshole positions. He may only be venerable to Beto. In addition, Beto gets to be closer to his young children.

(112,229 posts)I've seen too many low-post members advocate for Beto to withdraw--even when he first announced. Therefore, I don't take those comments seriously anymore.
Beto has money to remain in the race and he is not going to withdraw to run for Senate. I do expect him to remain in the race through Super Tuesday at least.
And since you didn't answer my previous question, are you also advocating for Julian Castro to withdraw from the race? His polls and fundraising are behind what O'Rourke has shown throughout the entire race,
Your concern for Beto's children is touching. If Beto wins the nomination and the general election, I'm sure that his children will be very close to him in the White House.

(112,229 posts)He reminded me of the kid in P.E. class that would say something "smart" then get beaten up. It wasn't a good look for Castro and his political base remains confined primarily to the San Antonio area.
And as much as I wish that Cornyn would lose, I'm not convinced that he is as vulnerable as others believe that he is. From O'Rourke's perspective, he may see the governor's race in 2022 as the race where he has a better chance of winning than the Senate race in 2020.

What are your thoughts on how he wanted to demolish a poor Latinx neighborhood for a Walmart back in his city council days?

(73 posts)to run for other positions, a couple already have done so and I applaud them. I believe STEVE BULLOCK may also be in the same category as Beto and there may be others.

(73 posts)does not run for the Senate. I have read he would our strongest candidate there. Even if we defeat Trump, we can not pass laws or approve judges without the Senate.
