What if the media told the American people every day

Good questions Bernie, I'm wondering how many Republicans would still be in the Congress, or even if that Party would continue to exist?

3. I can't follow that logic. If the GOP did not exist, none would be in Congress.

And the world would be a better place for it.

Having said that, I do think that we need at least two major parties in this country to keep each other in check. The GOP began to go off the rails in the Reagan years and has become more corrupt with each donation since that time.

Can the GOP reclaim it's soul from pre-1980 without embracing the hatred of Trump, the immorality of Newt Gingrich, & the corruption of McTurtle? I am skeptical.

...should billionaires, by law, be allowed to exist? By that, I mean, should one person be allowed to accumulate wealth on such an obscene level? I've never considered it before, but now, I'm not so sure. It almost seems perverse to have that kind of money at your disposal. And I'm not a socialist, by any means. To me, it just seems unethical, on a personal level, for one person to have that kind of money.

But likely if you were the billionaire you would not see it from that perspective.
They will protect their money more than their own lives.

The money supply is a limited resource, otherwise the system wouldn't work (million dollar loaves of bread anybody?). When there are a few with most of it that leaves everybody else with not enough. So yeah, there should be a maximum amount you could accrue before your tax rate goes to 100%.

There is no way the majority, even moderate Democrats, would agree to laws that cap how much one can earn.

But like a lot of good ideas, if it were instantly the reality, like Samantha of Bewitched wiggled her nose to make it happen, it would probably make for a healthier happier society. And more room at the bottom for entrepreneurs to enter business and compete with new ideas. If there were a law that anything over a billion would go to charity. Or to increase pay of your workers or something.

Just like universal single payer medicare. If it were instantly implemented, Americans would realize its the superior, and more importantly less costly option. Any "socialist!" propaganda would be forgotten. And like it is for other countries, it would be one of their most cherished institutions. Remember the London Olympics opening show?...the long opening tribute to their National Health Service? That must have been confusing for a lot of Americans.

Its getting there. The RW will never back off. It will be unrelenting attacks if Democrats ever got all three houses and implemented single payer. And every little snafu (like the web problems in the early days of the ACA) will be pounced upon and made into mountains. And when Republicans eventually got back into power, they'd try and dismantle it immediately. But it doesn't mean we shouldn't try.

there is a limit to how far you can run, there is a limit to how many football games you can watch.
The only thing I can think of that has NO LIMITS whatsoever is greed.

The seven deadly sins, also known as the capital vices, or cardinal sins, is a grouping and classification of vices within Christian teachings,[1] although it does not appear explicitly in the Bible. Behaviours or habits are classified under this category if they directly give birth to other immoralities.[2] According to the standard list, they are pride, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, wrath and sloth,[2] which are also contrary to the seven heavenly virtues. These sins are often thought to be abuses or excessive versions of one's natural faculties or passions (for example, gluttony abuses one's desire to eat, to consume).
