that after 2016 many of us are not going to be very excited or interested in polls.

the best damned thing progressives could do right now is boycott Facebook until that greedy B'stard Zuckerberg agrees to ban political ads as Twitter has agreed to do.

Not sure why that theory keeps popping up. But polls cannot make exact predictions or predict how the turnout on election day will look like with 100% accuracy. Especially with the electoral college where differences well within statistical noise over a couple of states can determine the outcome. Which is what happened in 2016.

I remember many on DU questioning why he had Hillary's win probability so low (compared to Sam Wang's numbers at Princeton).

Silver predicted a Hillary win but was always cautious that there was a pathway for Trump and if the polling undervalued his support, that pathway would materialize. He gets raked over the coals for his predictions but he was probably the more cautious one of many of the mainstream pundits.

If they weight by rural/suburban/urban, they are the only ones I know of that show that breakdown in the tabs. They are showing that Trump is in big trouble in suburbia especially suburban women. There is no way he should be able to win if this holds up.

It holds down our margins.

Liz and Bernie are offering a prescription that is too much for a majority of Americans.

Adding a public option to the ACA is more popular.... and more likely to be able to pass.
