'Lock him up' chants break out at Sanders rally

The Hill

Crowd members chanted "lock him up" at a rally for Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) late Sunday in Minneapolis when President Trump was mentioned.

According to the Minnesota Public Radio, the chants from the crowd came shortly after the senator, a 2020 White House hopeful, criticized Trump, saying: “We have a president of the United States who is a pathological liar, who is running the most corrupt administration in history.”

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) also took aim at Trump during the rally, according to the news outlet, saying “virtually every word out of his mouth is an attack on the very values and ideals that make this country a beacon of hope for me and the people around the world.”

Omar, who endorsed Sanders in the 2020 presidential race last month, said she is “beyond honored and excited for a president who will fight against western imperialism and fight for a just world.”

as President Obama used to say "Don't Boo, Vote!" ….Democrats would be wise to come back at these times and say "Don't chant, Vote!"

The reason It's silly when they do it is because they have no ground to stand on and are lying and fear mongering.

If someone actually deserves to be put in Prison, chanting Lock them Up is warranted.

Not same thing both sides

Sanders needs to offer the people he draws more than "noun, verb, REVOLUTION." People really do take their tone from those they choose as leaders, some a lot more than others.

Surely it's not wrong believe that gathering crowds creates a great duty for leaders to elevate their thinking and aspirations? Shouldn't all leaders help them be the best citizens they can be instead of inflaming antagonisms for personal benefit?

We know those who would lead by what they do with that opportunity.

When the Trump cult yells it about Hillary it’s wrong because she has committed no crimes. In this case it is fitting because he has committed many, many crimes. It’s a reasonable request. He, in fact, should be locked up. In that sense I have no problem with it.

Can see the irony but it’s not worth it.

or the Candidate speaking should stop them. At sporting events it's harder to control the crowd, so it doesn't bother me as much. I know I'm probably wrong to silently relish the chanting as Trump does nothing to control his ilk, still always better to take the high road. We cannot control the behavior others, just ourselves.
