Elizabeth Warren is having a moment, but will it translate into South Carolina momentum?

For Elizabeth Warren, it was never going to be all about South Carolina.

From the beginning, her presidential campaign set its sights on running a 50-state strategy, which meant the Massachusetts senator would realistically be forced to split her time between the four early primary states every four to six weeks.

She hinted as much when she addressed the South Carolina Democratic Party convention in June.

“It’s been about getting out and building a grassroots movement,” Warren said, after noting she had held more than 100 town halls in 20 states and Puerto Rico.

How much damage it will do remains to be seen, but Biden will lose support. SC will be closer than polls are currently predicting.

The media horse race narrative that will follow could put a big dent in his lead in SC, affecting his delegate count, fundraising, and momentum moving forward.

The contests leading up to Super Tuesday, while not delegate rich, create (false or otherwise) expectations for the rest of the primaries, often creating a "bandwagon effect" where voters flock to the candidate perceived as the trending winner.

SC will begin the Biden wipe out.

There seems to be tin ears when reading the tea leaves / polls. No one but Biden is resonating with minority communities.

Instead of figuring out why...seems to be a lot of denial. I chuckle every time I see a thread espousing what the folks in IA are thinking.

Iowa is a couple smaller cities and tons of ag....yeah that's a cross section of America!

The wailing and groaning and gnashing of teeth will commence in SC and continue until Biden secures the nomination.

I don't understand why that would surprise anyone.

The Democratic Party represents a cross section of America. I liken it to people you see at the mall when shopping.

Look at any of these polls and Sanders, Buttigieg, Warren, all get a majority of support from white people...that's just a fact.

Why they aren't doing anything about it and why we don't see a lot of recognition of that on this board is very puzzling to me.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden
