(3,150 posts)But it is a fascinating place to start. Sure, ghostwritten and highly polished, etc, but it is 'How Trump *THINKS* that he thinks'. how he views himself, and for that it is fascinating.
He's not insightful or reflective- directly- but my best friend in college (about the time it came out) who was a psych major said it was a great insight nonetheless. Nothing brutal and uncomfortably brilliant like Gandhi's almost painful self-examination, but as an idealized self-portrait a great place to start.
the problem with Trump is that he is *NOT* as dumb as most of the folks on here think. We (often justifiably) vilify him so much it's easy to forget he is cunning, savvy and has an innate grasp of the news cycle and social media. I think we lost in 2016 as much because everyone thought him a stupid and ignorant buffoon as due to any meddling or hacking.

I took so much of it, even I could have diagnosed Trump as Narcisistic. Trump is an Ego with a small person.
