My valuable reasoned opinion on WarrenSanders chances.

After a lot of numbers crunching and several consultations with Miss Cleo, here’s how I see it all shaking out.
Bloomberg will have little effect on the race.
Iowa, NH, Nevada, SC will just be produce a muddled mess with the top 4 remaining the top 4.

Pressure will then be on all of the so called other “moderates” like Klobuchar to drop and endorse Biden before Super Tuesday.
And, here’s the ultimate “decider”
The progressive wing of our party will strongly encourage Warren and Sanders to get into a room and hash things out.
They will be told this: “If both of you stay in the race thru Super Tuesday, Biden will be our nominee. But, if one of you drops out and endorses the other, that person will be our nominee.
You two have that power. So, decide what you think is better for the country and be relegated to the idea that the status quo gives the nomination to Biden”.

Neither will drop IMHO.
Biden will be our nominee.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

AND, I feel strongly that Sanders will NOT drop out, and that Warren will not either as long as she is leading Sanders.

Sanders now has a bit of the problem Clinton entered 2016 with - a history of negative publicity (fair or unfair) that has soaked into people's consciousness and will make it very hard for them to vote for him. (smaller numbers of that for Sanders than were for Clinton, and less hardened, but still potentially a significant handicap.)

I absolutely dread Sanders being the Democratic nominee. But that said, if he is and manages to beat Trump, he might make a great President. I just think that's a really risky IF and I wish he would've backed Warren from the start rather than getting in himself. We'd be having a far different conversation.

I expect we will end up with Biden as the nominee and I think he has the best chance to win swing states, so I am okay with that, even though his policies are not as left as I would like. He's in the right place, or at least the right general direction, on core issues and that will be a huge improvement over the alternative in Nov 2020.

Warren has the numbers to claim the #1 position among progressives, and Sanders is too ambitious to play second fiddle to anyone.

Irresistible force, meet immovable object.

Endorses the other. Because that would be a big picture, "we want to win" move. If that was the case, they'd both drop out now and endorse Biden. He has the best matchups against the monster.

Shirley you agree that Warren would prefer a President Sanders to a President Biden and that Sanders would prefer a President Warren to a President Biden.
And yes, it goes without saying that both Warren and Sanders would prefer Biden to Trump.

I was looking at it more like a conscious effort to unite against Biden. But you are right.

We really are divided IMHO. Half think if we have a decent Democrat who can beat trump, then everything will fall into place after that. (Pragmatism) The other 1/2 think this is the time to stand up for all the really big things we believe in. (Idealism)

receive the other candidate's support totally. And despite the idea that somehow Sander and Warren are a team (seen here in numerous posts), they are not. Delegates are awarded to individuals and the person who has the most delegates will be our nominee. The supers will see to it as a brokered convention especially one that disenfranchised AA voters who do not support either Warren nor Sanders in large numbers would guarantee Trump another four years. I don't believe either will get out anytime soon. But I believe Biden would be the nominee regardless.
