Domestic violence survivor in NH on why she's backing Biden - video & LTTE

Found the video thanks to a tweet from Biden's campaign manager and then searched and found the letter to the editor.

Greg Schultz's tweet -- "If anyone is undecided about @JoeBiden, have them watch this video."

The video which was tweeted by Bo Erickson of CBS (text of the two tweets in that thread below) - I had to turn up the volume on this, and what Chrissy said brought tears to my eyes:

WATCH: Chrissy, a domestic violence survivor, said @JoeBiden became her "hero" the day she read the news about his legislative push to support survivors like herself.
Biden's supporters throughout the country cite his "experience"--this is a glimpse of what they mean. @CBSNews

“He didn’t even know me and he was fighting for me and my son and my daughter—even though he didn’t know it—but he was. He means so much to me because of that…”

Chrissy Simonds's letter to the editor in the Nov. 1 NH Union Leader:

To the Editor: I have always felt as a registered voter that it is my responsibility to do as much homework and research as possible before I voted for any candidate, whether it is for a local election or a national election.

This time I didn’t research as much as I previously have done simply because the candidate I will be voting for during our primary election is someone who has impacted my and my son’s lives.

I am a survivor of domestic violence.

I will be voting for Joe Biden. While he was in the Senate Joe led the efforts to pass the Violence Against Women Act. It was passed with bipartisan support.

Because of his hard work getting that passed, organizations like the one that helped me when my son and I were homeless due to not having a safe place to live, were able to receive grants for offering transitional housing.

The government also offered grants for encouraging protection orders, boosting court training and improvement and offering legal assistance for victims of abuse.

I’m grateful to Joe Biden for all that he has done to keep women safe and able to thrive during the most terrifying times in their lives.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden
