What is the legal basis for something like this?

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:

....singling out a specific group of workers and legislating their pay levels.

But it's moot - that bill will not go anywhere in either house.

does not apply to everyone, as a veteran I for one don't have to worry about it.

Furthermore there is nothing "livable" about a 7.25 minimum wage on the other hand making 50 times more than your average employee is highly livable.

a lot more than average.

We don’t need a special tax, and big announcements which are really for populist publicity. Just demand who manages to get elected propose increased tax rates.

there wouldn't be as much need for these kinds of discussions, but since we are living in another Gilded Age these discussions are necessary.
