Kwadjo Campbell is no longer Bernie Sander's SC campaign director

CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Bernie Sanders is replacing his state director in the critical early-voting state of South Carolina.

Sanders’ presidential campaign tells The Associated Press that Jessica Bright now heads the campaign in South Carolina. Bright had been Sanders’ deputy state director and previously was political director for Democrat Joe Cunningham*’s upset win in South Carolina’s 1st Congressional District last year.

Bright replaces Kwadjo Campbell, a former member of the Charleston City Council. The campaign provided no details on Campbell’s departure.

Sanders’ campaign co-chair Nina Turner tells The Associated Press that, “Campaigns aren’t for everybody, and we wish him well.”

*For the record, Progressive Punch rates Joe Cunningham 230th of 233 Democratic members of Congress in the current session. He's rated lower than even Henry Cuellar, who is being primaries by Justice Democrats!!

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

1. "Campaigns aren't for everybody"??? --- Wow! I'm detecting a hint of bitterness or acrimony...

Wow! I'm detecting a hint of bitterness or acrimony... there's a tartness there that definitely leaves a sour aftertaste.

Could she be any MORE obvious?

I'm getting to the point where I'm really looking forward to the primaries beginning, then we can narrow the field and move forward.

4. Sanders Replaces Top Staffer in South Carolina (3:21 p.m.)

I remember that sanders got rid of his NH and Iowa leaders earlier https://finance.yahoo.com/news/biden-proposes-1-3-trillion-103000727.html

(Bloomberg) -- Bernie Sanders has replaced his South Carolina state director, naming to the job a political consultant who helped flip a Republican-held House seat in the state to Democrats in 2018.

Sarah Ford, a campaign spokeswoman, confirmed that Jessica Bright would replace Kwadjo Campbell. She did not respond to a question about why Sanders made the change.

Sanders is trailing Joe Biden and Elizabeth Warren in the crucial primary state. In a RealClearPolitics average of polls between Oct. 3 and Oct. 21, Biden had support of 35% of the state’s likely Democratic voters, while Warren had 15.5% and Sanders had 12.8%.

In 2016, Sanders lost South Carolina by 47.5 points to eventual Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, largely because he failed to appeal to the state’s critical bloc of African American voters. He has launched a broad effort to improve his standing in the state for 2020 against Biden, who is deeply popular with black voters.

6. Three of the four states have had their directors changed? Seems like a campaign in disarray....

If things don't change he'll get shut out in South Carolina, the one with the most delegates of the early four.
