"Donald Trump has to be defeated," Biden said. "Because as long as hes in this position, we are losing our standing around the world, our international support is weakening, we find ourselves in the nation increasingly divided.
Biden says he is the best person for the job.
The next president of the United States is going to inherit a divided country, and a world in disarray. Theres not going to be a lot of time for on-the-job training. I think were going to have to pull the country together," he said. "I have the most significant record in being able to generate consensus among Democrats and Republicans on major issues and major bills, as well as I think I can stand on the world stage I know most of the world leaders and command the respect of those who are adversaries as well as those that are friends.

Here in Nevada, Biden is polling well. He is currently the front-runner in the state. To keep that status, he says the campaign needs to continue garnering support from minority communities and working class folks.
"Weve maintained strong support with all of the minority communities and with the unions. Thats been my base working-class folks and minorities and so I feel good," he said. I feel good about it. My wife has been here, my sister, Im going to be here a lot. Its an important and diverse state to be able to win, and I hope we can do it.

(8,144 posts)As to no ticking time bomb? Literally, more nuclear arms than ever before in history. Pakistan and India have come very close. A first nuclear war anywhere in the world will trigger climate change
catastrophe.
Russia is supporting the rise of fascism in Europe. We need to get Iran back to the table.
Kim Jong Un presents a definite threat. The Mideast...China...
A Biden presidency will reassure our allies and send a coherent, firm message that we will stand against rather than coddle our enemies.
Honestly, no other candidate is as experienced and knowledgeable in foreign policy and relations as
Joe Biden. Complacency makes it possible to miss the ticking time bombs and thus to have missed
Bidens superior grasp of the world situation overall and his ability to help us and other countries navigate these perilous times.

(34,169 posts)Let's face, he whiffed on gun control in 2013 and he couldn't stop the fatal blow of Rubio's amendment that cut the legs out of the ACA. He really couldn't work his purported magic during his second term as VP.
As far as international relations go, any of our top tier candidates can repair the damage quickly simply by not being Trump.
I understand that these are your sincere opinions, but I don't agree.

(1,701 posts)Nor is anyone more likely to have coat-tails that flip red-states blue in the Senate and expand our lead in the Senate.
It isn't just that Joe Biden will be ready on day one, it is that he will expand our numbers in Congress if he tops the ticket and he will get legislation passed.
To say nothing of restoring our alliances worldwide.

But when we're talking about who has the experience to be able to handle the job of president from day one, none of the other candidates are at all close to Biden.
