WASHINGTON Bernie Sanders 2020 campaign says that it has received contributions from 4 million donors.
In Sanders 2016 presidential campaign, he didnt reach that number of contributors until after winning the New Hampshire primary.
Sanders campaign manager Faiz Shakir says, This is what momentum looks like.
Last week, the Sanders campaign said it had made more than 7.75 million calls and sent more than 63 million text messages, mostly to voters in early states.

(67,782 posts)Who are these additional 3.9 million people? Where do they live, what are their occupations and employers? How many times and how much have they given?
*correction: only 50,000
Lots of open questions to be answered.

(67,782 posts)....detailed information from about 50,000 contributors (I overestimated this at 100,000 above) The rest are "unitemized".
In fact, his Treasurer has reported $61.4M individual contributions, only $18.6M (30%) are itemized:
$61,456,335.38 Total individual contributions
$18,660,347.00 Itemized individual contributions
$42,795,988.00 Unitemized individual contributions

(270 posts)"This story has been corrected to show Sanders had more than 4 million contributions, not contributions from 4 million donors."

(67,782 posts)...at $2,800, gave an average of TEN contributions a day.
What's the difference between a person who gives $2,800 in one contribution or one who gives $2,800 in 800 contributions? Which is "worse"?
Finally, without revealing the actual details of those 4 million, we don't know how accurate those numbers really are.

(67,782 posts)....individual contributions. If that were the case for all his contributors (which isn't the case), that would bring that 4,000,000 down significantly.
Getting contributors to give multiple small contributions enables them to boast of XXXX number of contributions, which isn't representative of what really happened.

(2,061 posts)Sanders is at a pretty solid third right now. Lets see if money can bring him to the top. No doubt he is the Benjamin leader.
