Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumSaint Anselm NEW HAMPSHIRE general election poll: Biden +8, Buttigieg +7, Sanders +3, Warren +1
DUer brooklynite has already posted an OP about a tweet about the poll's primary-race results
https://www.democraticunderground.com/1287351504
which show Buttigieg leading with 25%, Biden and Warren tied at 15%, Sanders at 9%, and Klobuchar at 6%.
But I wanted to post a link to the poll itself
https://www.anselm.edu/sites/default/files/Documents/NHIOP/Polls/1119%20Topline%20Summary.pdf
and point out that even in this poll with Buttigieg well ahead in the primary race, Biden still does best against Trump. And even though Warren is tied with Biden in the primary race in this poll, Biden does 7 points better than she does against Trump.

(48,966 posts)Don't get me wrong. I like Mayor Pete. I think he has a great future.
But I don't think he can beat Biden in the primary, and I think he'd have a much harder time than Biden beating Trump in the GE.

(11,088 posts)Who won both new hampshire and iowa and did not win the nomination?
Because if the recent polls are right, Pete would win both states.

(43,299 posts)In the 192 year history of the party, there has never been a Democrat who ran and won the POTUS who had run in the primaries before and lost.
Also
If Sen. Harris wins NOW, in 2020, she will be the OLDEST first time sworn-in Democratic POTUS since Harry Truman.
Before Truman, the next Dem older-than-Harris new first time POTUS elect was James Buchanan, the POTUS right before Lincoln.
The only other Democrat in history older when first elected was the very first Dem POTUS ever, Andrew Jackson elected in 1828.
