Microsoft News Poll: Buttigieg breaks out of the pack in Democratic debate.

~snip~

Wednesday's debate was a breakout moment for Pete Buttigieg among Democratic and independent voters. Microsoft News polls taken before and after the debate also found significantly weakened support for Joe Biden.

Support for Buttigieg jumped 5 percentage points, placing him in a narrow lead. Biden's support fell 6 points. That leaves the race with two leaders with a virtual tie when accounting for the margin of error. Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren were also tied. There was little change among Kamala Harris and other lower-ranked candidates.

He ticked me off in the beginning with his unfair remark that HRC's slogan in 2016 was "I'm with her." It wasn't. It was "Stronger Together."

But I am moving past that. And there have been a lot of crazy analyses about the 2016 election so I guess I just have to tolerate a certain amount of the insanity.

On the balance I find Buttigieg to be a very impressive candidate. I am moving in the direction of supporting him in the primaries.

Fri Nov 22, 2019, 03:10 PM
Nov 2019
In this poll, responses before the debate were collected from 3,314 people on Nov. 10-20. After the debate, responses were collected Nov. 20-21 from 2,769 people.

Responses were collected on more than 300 sites across the U.S. and analyzed by polling firm CivicScience to model how demographic groups answered each question. Answers were then projected onto the true distribution of those demographic groups. The poll has a margin of error of +- 2 percentage points.

The method is as accurate as traditional polling methods. Learn more about the methodology and its historical validation.
