Who will benefit (Primary-wise) from the extended Impeachment Trial that Trump wants?

Most likely Buttigieg and Yang.

Sanders, Warren, Klobuchar, Harris and Booker will all be stuck in Washington for the trial period.

Biden will likely be a target of Trump's "defense" and will have to take time responding to accusations.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

He met with McConnel and other GOP senators yesterday, and the report is the senate will complete a trial within 2 weeks.

It's the hearings that I think should be extended; the Dems can blame Trump's court obstructions, and take this right up to the Convention. It may take that long to move the needle on impeachment polls to make to 20 GOP senators up for reelection nervous enough...as well as tar Pence. Giuliani just might be indicted by then too.

Yes, what you wrote is, indeed, true... But, if Republicans don't see this as the obvious slam dunk (like I'm seeing on TV)... Then maybe Democrats will hold more open hearings or tack on other crimes. They have many options ahead of them.

It's all Sun Tzu "Art of War" stuff right now, and Nancy Pelosi is in control... Why make a move before the Barr "Investigation of the Investigations" report or the Lindsey Graham's bullshit investigation about the Bidens happen?

The point has been made... Let it hang over the Trump administration for a while. There is no cockamamy rule about wrapping this up a certain number of months before the 2020 election. I'd actually love to see the trial going on during the election.

How would you feel about Trump winning again and he could and winning both the House and the Senate...It makes me nauseous to do this impeachment with no hope of conviction. I don't think the time away, if even necessary, will harm them that much. What will possibly harm them is the circus it's going to turn into. What might harm or seriously help someone is who will be sitting in front of them and what the optics of their part of the questioning comes off like.

Too many unknown variables to even consider who will benefit and who won't. I would probably rather be sitting on the inside of the room rather than the outside. Biden might be best situated by being on the inside and outside of the room.
