I Don't Think Bloomberg Has a Prayer of Being the Nominee, However,

I hope he spends millions on ads attacking Donald Trump. Let him run as many of those ads as he wishes, for as long as he wishes.

They'll help whoever becomes the Nominee get elected.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

but Bloomberg sees Biden, Warren and Sanders splitting the vote resulting in a gridlocked convention.
He becomes the "compromise candidate". A long shot but a chance for him.

carrys no weight.
How he differs from Trump is all that matters.
The first candidate that breaks out with a platform challenging Trump with issues that matter will draw a groundswell of support.
Election security, medical insurance reform, fair taxation, education funding are just a few areas we can show noted distinctions between Reps n Dems.
It is time to start running against the enemy and not ourselves.

But being in the race is a good legal way for him to unleash his money on Trump. Hopefully the ads damage Trump beyond repair.

So what's his point? I know many folks are thinking of him as a republican, the billionaire that he is, but I remember him as a Dem back in the pre-mayor NYC days.

Time will tell. He's got lots of money, so let's see who he attacks.
