Obama Reportedly Told a Dem Candidate that Joe Biden 'Really Doesn't Have' Bond With Voters

A new report on former President Barack Obama suggests the former president doesn’t have faith in Joe Biden’s chances to connect with voters and win the 2020 election.

Politico released an article about numerous 2020 Democratic candidates who met Obama at his office in D.C. this year, seeking his advice on how to win with their campaigning efforts. The article says that as Obama provided advice to the candidates who met with him, it also gave him a chance to learn about them so he and his advisers can figure out who is the most likely person to defeat President Donald Trump.

Here are some of Obama’s biggest takeaways so far, via Politico:

while referring to his own waxing and waning history in Iowa. The article title is very misleading, IMO. One need only look at South Carolina voters to know that global statement is misleading.

Note that most of the context is missing. Even as it is, imo, 90% of this is in the hit-job headline, making running to post it a for-shame. No to 2016 redux.

Biden's by far the most well-liked male politician in the nation after Obama himself, and longer. That missing context in what Otterbein chose to post isn't "suspicious" at all. Everyone knows why it's missing.

Joe Biden doesn't have the same bond with voters in Iowa as he did in 2008, when he was the Obama's VP pick. None of it confirmed by any reference to any source.

A far cry from "Obama Reportedly Told a Dem Candidate that Joe Biden 'Really Doesn't Have' Bond With Voters".

Snip...

Former President Barack Obama, who has so far taken a neutral position publicly on the 2020 Democratic presidential primary, privately indicated he would speak up to stop Bernie Sanders from becoming the party’s nominee should the Vermont senator make significant gains, Politico reported Tuesday.

Snip...

Another close Obama friend reportedly told Lizza that “Bernie’s not a Democrat.” (Sanders serves as an independent in the Senate, but caucuses with Democrats.)

at Biden and to do so right after bragging about his own "intimate bond" with the electorate, especially in Iowa?

I can't imagine Obama doing either of those things, as the Politico story claims he did:

With one candidate, he pointed out that during his own 2008 campaign, he had an intimate bond with the electorate, especially in Iowa, that he no longer has. Then he added, “And you know who really doesn’t have it? Joe Biden.”

Either Lizza made this up, or the unnamed candidate or an unnamed source in the unnamed candidate's campaign made this up.

This story has ZERO credibility.
