Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg (D) is now tied with Sens. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) and Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) in a new poll of the Democratic primary race.
A Quinnipiac University poll released Tuesday found Bloomberg with the support of 3 percent of Democratic and left-leaning independent voters nationwide, higher than entrepreneur Andrew Yang (D) and former Housing Secretary Julián Castro, as well as Sens. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) and Michael Bennet (D-Colo.), who all registered 2 percent support in the poll.
Bloomberg and his fellow candidates in the single digits all significantly trailed the party's current frontrunners, former Vice President Joe Biden (D), Sens. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), and South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg (D), who have vied for control of the top tier of the Democratic field for months.
The former mayor has yet to qualify for the national debate stage even as other candidates near the same level of support have done so. With the December debate polling qualifications rising to four percent in four national or early-state polls, Bloomberg's odds of qualifying look thin as he has already signaled that he will not compete in early state contests.

(1,713 posts)tv ads don't do alot for you anymore. Bloomberg has name recognition and some small level support. This says more about Harris and Klobaucher. Neither have caught on after months of campaigning and debates. To poll this low at this point is terrible and probably takes you off VP list too. I doubt the VP pick will come from the debate stage. Booker or Castro maybe. Biden, Sanders and Warren are old and a much younger minority will be thier pick.
