So why do I like Warren so much and Sanders so little?

Throughout 2016 I endorsed most of Sanders positions, but didn't want him as my president. I didn't think his positions had a chance and his temperament eliminated him from my consideration as the leader of my country. Then Warren came around. At first I didn't endorse her. But then I heard some of her arguments and I was persuaded. Her temperament is fine as far as I'm concerned. Are there others of you who like Warren but would consider Sanders only as a last resort?

We have had a crazy old man yelling at us for the past three years. And I in NO WAY equate the two, I feel like Bernie would be an old man yelling at us for the next number of years. He's just angry ALL THE TIME. I feel that there is a time to get 'yer dander up', but not 24/7. I was very interested in Sanders four years ago, but now not so much. If he is the nominee, I will vote for him, but I hope he's not.

Sanders dislikes and disrespects me every bit as much as I have come to for him. I know that because he says so often; at least I assume constantly claiming I'm little better than Republicans and feeling justified in trying to illicitly overcome my vote for his opponent are not expressions of admiration.

Now, Elizabeth likes, has a rational and decent level of respect for, and gets along very well with most people, including me and her colleagues, and I like her too. Both Biden and Hillary wanted her for their running mate in 2016 (if he had run, she was his big, #1 choice), and I would have been glad to vote for them. None of us can get more complimentary than that.

even if it means disappointment or having to hold my nose. I think both Warren and Sanders are outstanding in their courage to take on an immense plutocracy. But the powers that be, are pushing back on the left wing of Democratic Party. However voters will decide.

...I don't think Sanders is all that bad. I'd rank him at least in the middle of the pack as far as my choices go -- maybe well into the upper half now, what with Kamala's organization imploding and Castro making an ass of himself.

My brother, who worked in the Obama administration, once told me that he saw Sanders as mostly show and not much go, but Warren as "the real deal".

I was convinced at the start of the campaign that Warren was going to solidly overtake Sanders, because she has all of his strengths and few of his weaknesses. That doesn't seem to be happening. Why would more people like him than her? Does he really attract that many misogynists? Or is it the Russians again?

Tue Dec 3, 2019, 10:41 AM

I 100% trust a President Warren to sign off on, and not veto ANY legislation that is hard fought for and manages to get through the House and Senate, even if it is less perfect, or not completely what she'd like to see in the bill. For example, if we get a President Warren a bill to her desk that just enhances or expands the ACA instead of the MFA that she champions, I'm 100% confident a President Warren would still sign off on it.

A President Sanders? No, he's proven time and time again that any bill that doesn't meet his purity tests will not get him onboard. Hell he campaigns on his unwillingness to compromise his positions. The LAST thing we need is to actually get Trump out of office, and replaced by someone who can't be counted on to pass hard fought for legislation. He's the only candidate in the field that I don't have confidence in when it comes to this.
