I won't take long, though, since I am currently homeless and am changing clothes in my car in a parking lot.
But I digress...
Put the knives away, please. I merely mean that we can be every bit as blinded by our ideas as the opposition can be about theirs.
For instance-- in any movement, slogans can be important to focus minds on important themes. When the slogan becomes more important than the the original theme, though, we are in danger of losing the point.
And when a good idea becomes complicated by other beliefs that only marginally support the original good idea.
Now, I fully understand that some of you want to see an example of my idea of this left wing silliness, but not on your life.
First, while it is quite comfortable sitting here with no pants on, I must get dressed before the park rangers run around looking for people parked after dark, when the parks close.
More importantly, no matter how carefully I try, I'll never get out a paragraph without insulting someone who holds at least one such idea. I do not care to randomly insult anyone this evening, so I'll pass on examples.
