pretty well. The older man went too far in his accusations.
I think he struck the right balance, especially since he was righteously angry at the false representation.

(113,052 posts)In-depth reporting and still never determined that there was any wrong done.
The GOP media machine is just running with the APPEARANCE of wrongdoing, as they always do.

Several former officials in the Obama Administration and at the State Department insisted that Hunters role at Burisma had no effect on his fathers policies in Ukraine, but said that, nevertheless, Hunter should not have taken the board seat. As the former senior White House aide put it, there was a perception that Hunter was on the loose, potentially undermining his fathers message. The same aide said that Hunter should have recognized that at least some of his foreign business partners were motivated to work with him because they wanted to be able to say that they are affiliated with Biden. A former business associate said, The appearance of a conflict of interest is good enough, at this level of politics, to keep you from doing things like that.
In December, 2015, as Joe Biden prepared to return to Ukraine, his aides braced for renewed scrutiny of Hunters relationship with Burisma. Amos Hochstein, the Obama Administrations special envoy for energy policy, raised the matter with Biden, but did not go so far as to recommend that Hunter leave the board. As Hunter recalled, his father discussed Burisma with him just once: Dad said, I hope you know what you are doing, and I said, I do.
I am not the gop media machine and I think biden needs a better answer than he has previously given and certainly something more concise than this article to explain the "appearance"

(113,052 posts)I wish Hunter had listened to him. But, still, there was nothing criminal anyone could point to, however, that doesnt stop the smear machine.

(5,376 posts)"Interviews with more than a dozen people, including executives and former prosecutors in Ukraine, paint a picture of a director who provided advice on legal issues, corporate finance and strategy during a five-year term on the board, which ended in April of this year.
Biden never visited Ukraine for company business during that time, according to three of the people."

(249 posts)First the media was all over Joe for not saying something awhile back when Trump was going after Hunter.
Now he says something and they are all over him about controlling his anger and that it isn't a good look.
Which is it???

(22,114 posts)said)...I wonder how many people he's in bed with and I wonder how many illegal bribes he's made, in order to be a 'big man' overseas in some countries. It seems like a lot of so called business partners have mob characteristics such as language etc., what's up with this? And we worry about a kid w/ legitimate reasons working in Ukraine? Especially one w/ his father as an ex-VP of the USA? Don't you think that this was at the top of their (the Biden's) minds of how this would appear?
rump has far more cause to be looked at, then 10 of Hunter Biden's work in the Ukraine.

(3,855 posts)I guess you mean the one where the guy accuses Biden of corruption in Ukraine.
And not the one on immigration.
Or the one with Fossil Fuels.
Which I think he handled.. less well.
It might still be a problem if you mention a potentially bad exchanegBiden had and peopel cant' be sure which one you mean.
