Remember when Harry Reid said it about Obama?

http://www.cnn.com/2010/POLITICS/01/09/obama.reid/index.html

The authors quote Reid as saying privately that Obama, as a black candidate, could be successful thanks, in part, to his "light-skinned" appearance and speaking patterns "with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one."

"He [Reid] was wowed by Obama's oratorical gifts and believed that the country was ready to embrace a black presidential candidate, especially one such as Obama -- a 'light-skinned' African American 'with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one,' " Halperin and Heilemann say.

Biden's description of Obama draws scrutiny

https://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/01/31/biden.obama/

In the article published Wednesday, Biden is quoted evaluating presidential rivals Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-New York, former Sen. John Edwards, D-North Carolina, and Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois. His remarks about Obama, the only African-American serving in the Senate, drew the most scrutiny.

"I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy," Biden said. "I mean, that's a storybook, man." (Watch Biden's comments and Obama's reaction Video)

Biden issued a statement Wednesday afternoon, saying: "I deeply regret any offense my remark in the New York Observer might have caused anyone. That was not my intent and I expressed that to Sen. Obama."

Biden also spoke to reporters in a conference call Wednesday afternoon and said the remark was taken out of context.

Just a little insight for you - the articles are old - but I've experienced this myself. It was true in 1991, true in 2007, and it is true today
The ‘Well-Spoken’ Black Person Stereotype Still Thrives In 2018 -The nation’s first Black president also received the “well-spoken” treatment from political friends and foes

Being described by White people as “articulate” disparages African Americans. It conveys the message that “you people” are typically unintelligent and too lazy to master standard English. There was a national discussion on this very issue involving our first Black president—who got the “well-spoken” treatment from the political left and right.

In his assessment of President Barack Obama in 2007, before he won the White House, President George W. Bush told Fox News that Obama was not ready to be president. However Obama is “an attractive guy. He’s articulate,” Bush added.

Gee - you know us so well. You know well educated affluent black folks like me even better than I know myself.

You need to call him to task. I see Sanders, Biden, Warren, Buttigieg, Yang, Booker, Castro supporters - do it all of the time. Call your guy to task.

Convince me by your behavior that this undecided Democratic Committee Council Member (two year elected term) in NJ should support your candidate.
