Bloomberg is saying good things

https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/474135-bloomberg-unveils-proposal-to-increase-earned-income-tax-credit-federal

I'll admit, I have been very negative about Bloomberg. My trust level for him wasn't very high.

But I have to admit he is a rational and decent person. If he becomes our nominee, I will joyfully vote for him. Even though I'm not supporting him during the primary at this point.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

"The president deserves our support."

He spoke those words at the 2004 Republican convention when George W. Bush was being nominated for a second term.

That is all I need to know. I could never joyfully vote for him.

I have a knee jerk reaction against anyone who has changed often for the convenience of winning the nod.
He could not run in the republican primary with any chance of winning so he now switches.

that people always asked him in later years how he managed to balance the budget. did he have a secret weapon?
yes, arithmetic. apparently, it's a secret.

bloomberg knows how to see a big picture and not just add up the numbers, but add up the right numbers.
we tried a soda tax in chi, but the propaganda got it overturned. but anyone who looked at the numbers had to admit that it was a brilliantly targeted fee that would pay off hugely if no one paid it any more.
his many actions and plans take our human capitol into account in a way that is very, very smart.
our county board pres here in cook is in the same vein. and i love her.

like several others, i am super thrilled to have all of them in the race. the more people out there punching twitler in the face every damn day, as well as knocking on doors, the more nails their were in the gop's coffin.
steyer is even starting to grow on me. he is pretty good at deflecting stupid questions, and answering the question that should be asked.

(side note- went to jan schakowsky's holiday party this weekend. chatted w her hubby bob creamer. told him i was on team ew, but like having yang in the race. made above comment about our many candidates, and he agreed w a large smile.)

Bloomberg was my mayor for many years. He did some good things and some bad things. I think he's good on climate and guns, which are very important to me. Stop and frisk was horrible. The way he abused unions was too. But I'll still vote for him joyfully if he's the nominee.

He's not my favorite, but he is infinitely preferable to the sexist, racist, stupid turd he would be running against.

Though given where he is on guns and climate change, that is not possible. His problem is that he is a very smart, talented guy, who really does not "fit" either party.

He contributed mostly to Democrats for years, before he opted to run as a Republican as there was no chance he would get the Democratic nomination and no real competition for the Republican one. The problem is that in those years as an elected Republican, he gave a ton of money to Republicans and to their causes.

no matter whether you like our eventual nominee or not. And we don't know who our eventual nominee will be, so we have to be very careful about our negative statements about any of the possibilities.

WE gave the republicans all the talking points they needed to smear Hillary. Let's not do that again.

My differences with Bloomberg are fairly personal. His attempts at union busting while he was mayor reduced my income and wealth level for the rest of my life.

Still. As I said above, if a rotting fish head is our nominee, I will joyfully vote for it.

I would much rather see Warren or Biden or Sanders or Klobuchar or Castro or Booker or even Tulsi Gabbard as the nominee.
