Because he just endorsed someone exactly like him! Also, Bernies essay recently exposed tells us that Bernie hates women. (And I aint gonna take that shit about that was a long time ago.)
I am female and I am so effing mad I am spitting nails! He better walk this back!!!!
A primary vote for Bernie is a vote for the orange asshole in the white house!

Sanders and U-what's-his-face both know what "textualism" and "originalism" mean, Supreme Court justices appointed by the Republicans they helped put in power to eliminate all progressive federal laws and programs, including the right to privacy that says the government can't dictate our birth control, right to have surgery, or right to a free and open internet, among incredibly much else.

I explicitly called out Bernie and essentially state that AOC should be backing Warren.
Now Ill say it outright. AOCs endorsement of Bernie should go to the progressive female in the primary. I cant speak for her reasons to support Bernie. I dont know them. I Only know that her support is wrong.
On edit: My AOC comments were in the original post about Cenk endorsement. Sorry. ...but Ill leave those comments here too because I have nothing against Warren. I hope you didnt call me out because I have endorsed Biden -but it appears that you did...

So, Bernie hates women. Where to begin? Let's see. He has affirmed abortion as a constitutional right and his Medicare For All bill provides full coverage for reproductive care including abortion. Sanders has a 100% lifetime pro-choice voting record.
The official page on Planned Parenthood Action's site shows him supporting all of the group's top issues with no negative marks.
Oh, right, and when she was First Lady, one of the greatest feminists of her time, Hillary Clinton, wrote Bernie a thank you note in her own hand, expressing her gratitude for his service in aid of health care.

(1,898 posts)I am only too willing to learn. On a related note: if Sanders' Medicare For All had so many shortcomings, why would so many women in Congress, such as Elizabeth Warren, endorsed it (along with groups such as National Nurses United)?
Oh, by the way, his 100% pro-choice voting record was assigned to Sanders by women's groups.

If the women who endorsed Bernie's M4All bill dropped their support due to his endorsement of Uyger, I'd reconsider. For now, your argument about Sanders' support for women continues to make me laugh and laugh and laugh and laugh but I am driven to my guffaws not because you are a woman but because of your hyperbolic response to the Uyger endorsement.
For the record, Sanders has withdrawn his endorsement of Uyger but my original position stands.

(58,785 posts)another similar percentage voted third party, and 2% refused to vote at all, for 24% of all Sanders' primary voters. Most of those here loudly claimed Sanders' messages as the reasons they couldn't vote for Democrats.
And true believers that they are, the same foul lies became basic frames of belief for them to this day, and I'm guessing they'll die seeing everything through a lens of Democratic corruption. Once they were no longer allowed here, of course, they retreated to the DU satellite forums that exist for hostiles to monitor our chat and post anti-Democratic poison. The inspiring home page of one:
And the sort of thing you see there about Democrats, in this case responses to Obama's message to avoid extremism, aka too much "purity," which obviously didn't go over well with its intended audience:
"BTW, Barry, Bernie has the perfect comeback to your bullshit: Its always impossible until its done.Nelson Mandela. Mandela would be ashamed of you, Obama, you fucking sellout."
"Barack OBummer. Direct from the office of the corporate DNC Inc."
"Says the representative of a conservative wing of the Democratic party, after spending three years casting stones at the Russians, who had little to do with their political failure to inspire citizens enough to believe it worthwhile to cast a vote. Good leaders own up to their mistakes. Blaming voters puts the cart before the horse."
"STFU, Barry! You betrayed 90% of the people who voted for you, especially African-Americans, whom you just shit on. Look forward, not back. Americans celebrate wealth, and they should. War, war, and more war. Assassinations. The rich got richer and everyone else got poorer. More, much more, and your final gift to America was Donald Trump. Lower than whale dreck, you are."
One posted a video of Ralph Nader claiming Obama would be another Bush. Another posted an article from RT/Russian propaganda to show how evil and corrupt Democrats are.
That Democrats are too much like Republicans to make any real difference is a message Sanders has pushed in various ways at every appearance I've seen him in. I learned to watch for it, and he's been doing for so long that it seems almost as automatic to him as breathing. Like when he blew off a question at the She the People conference about what he'd do as president about all the racist, extremist judges the Republicans have been packing the courts with, who are persecuting minorities, by saying he'd "appoint Supreme Court Justices" and "anyway, the Democrats do it too."

(58,785 posts)of you to note the extreme similarity of behaviors, if not candidates.
In 2008 a radical, rabble-rousing "Party Unity My Ass" faction (their official name "People United Means Action" quickly morphed to fit their actions) passionately rallied to use Hillary to defeat Obama; that time they angrily accused the evil Democrats of "rigging" the election for Obama, and many promised to vote for McCain.
In 2016 they passionately rallied to Sanders, angrily attacked the evil DNC and dozens of Democratic state parties for rigging the election (to be fair Sanders told them dozens of times it was happening), called for Hillary to be thrown in prison, and many promised to vote Trump or third party.
Same thing back with Nader v Gore, and so on back. Behaviors are very identifying. Go where they congregate to speak freely, and the same kind of people behaving totally predictably.
The difference between 2008 and 2016 was the behaviors of the candidates, not these packs. Hillary very strongly supported Obama, while Sanders' very different behavior toward her and the Democratic Party was...identifying. He denounced his membership immediately, of course.

(9,116 posts)You're saying a significant number of voters supported Clinton against Obama in 2008, and then supported Sanders against Clinton in 2016. That would mean they sided with the more moderate and established candidate in '08 and the more progressive, underdog candidate in '16. What's with the shift in ideology?

(58,785 posts)progressive desires combined with populist social conservatism with a strong dash of antagonism. Some are radical LWers drawn to Sanders' seemingly simple, universalist solutions (the ones he's always called for but isn't running on now), and some are populists: and those are where antagonism burns hottest.
The antagonistic social conservatism of a large percentage of populists always dominates his varied, never-die base ("Lock her up!" for both Trump and Sanders populists), and they didn't like Obama -- a lot more than they might have disliked Hillary if she wasn't their weapon against him. (No, Michelle Obama did not spend $450 on room service as PUMA PAC claimed, and yes, she could eat spaghetti without dribbling it all over her dress as both they and Trump's bigots claimed. Etc.)
Sanders' voters are a very mixed bag, some very decent, idealistic but undiscerning people, some solid but impatient Democrats who want to give the party a push. But populists are not any party's finer folk by any means, and Sanders is running as a socialist leaning populist leader.

(9,116 posts)But there are some assumptions required to make this theory work.
Alternatively, it might be suggested there is some overlap between the defecting groups, but that they are largely distinct and instead motivated by the tendency in people to get butthurt when they don't get their way.
Someone should look into this, though. A longitudinal analysis of voting habits among specific subjects would a pretty interesting study.

(58,785 posts)that a lot of professionals have been studying this. To put it mildly, populists movements are a grave danger to democracies around the planet, left far less than right in general except when they unite (!!!), and now including ours.
Btw, our intelligence services say Putin is trying to unite the angry left with the angry right to form a majority that can defeat the majorities that elected Obama, Hillary, and the candidates of the blue wave. Haven't heard how they think that's going, but that's a combination that brings down nations.

(14,168 posts)You really want to open up the topic of problems with attitudes towards women in regards to past behaviours in every Democratic candidate? Including your own? Why admin allows this type of OP is beyond me, but okay.
While Bernie wrote a fantasy novel, when he was a young man, that dared to use facts (like many women have rape fantasies. Which Psychology Today backs up),
https://www.psychologytoday.com/ca/blog/all-about-sex/201001/womens-rape-fantasies-how-common-what-do-they-mean
The reason for that is that fantasy is completely different than what one does in reality. You know, like actually doing things to make women uncomfortable or feel they are not to be believed when it comes to sexual harassment.
ie Anita Hill
ie. Lucy Flores
support for the Hyde Amendment. Oh right, all that was "a long time ago".
But why even open this can of worms? Democrats should not be fishing around for reasons to smear other Democratic party candidates.
And again attacking liberal media. Like TYT. Their crime? endorsing the "wrong" candidate, in your opinion. We have so little liberal media even existing in the MSM world of TV and radio. YouTube shows like TYT, David Packman, etc is the only output for more pro Democratic, pro liberal shows these days. But we have to eat our own of course.

(14,168 posts)1. We are each others largest trading partners. (Some believe that's only one way). And so because we are so intricitly tied together, what happens there directly affects our economy. ie....if you have a recession, its difficult for us not to follow. So every Canadian should have an interest in what happens there.
2. I believe in a more of a global outlook. Furthermore, I think every more liberal leaning person has an obligation to take into account what goes on all over the globe, in this ever increasing globalized world, both economically and with social media. For instance, I feel closer to American Democrats, than I do Canadian Conservatives. I identity with more liberal politics and parties in all countries. I think more and more, we have to stand together. With more and more self styled authoritarian right wing leaders elected using fear and racism (and with help from Putin). to create a worldwide network of political leaders that work directly for the 1% of the planet. Borders don't matter to this class of people. The health of the planet or people do not matter. Only accumulating wealth.
The Democratic Party is the party in the US that best represents the interests of those fighting against this development. Pushing the other direction, like encouraging Medicare for All, is very important to counter the disinformation and stealing of treasuries by the stooges for the 1% like Moscow Mitch, to shower themselves with tax breaks and subsidies, while dismantling environmental protections and making it easier to pollute and pay miserable wages.
3. (bonus) I like this place. It saved my sanity when I joined during the Iraq war. I like debating issues that are common in every western democracy, and could apply here in Canada as well. I don't take anything personal. I don't alert just to stop an uncomfortable conversation. I prefer to back my opinions with words.

And Biden doesn't have the excuse of "it a long time ago" (Nor did Biden recant what he said, a fact you conveniently forgot)
I don't' accept your assertion that is contradicted by the facts nor your implication that there is something wrong with the women who do support Sanders.
