(12,919 posts)...and if you're going to start ignoring every poll from Fox to NPR, you might as well ignore every poll.

(58,785 posts)Especially the pollsters, actually.
As for the rating, this agency won't be the only one to sacrifice its reputation to keep the Republicans in power. This is an existential election. A free press is also on the line, and many embedded in media around the nation have either sold out or joined as agents of corruption. NPR and PBS join the NYT, AP, and dozens of other top media. Not to forget to remember and appreciate people still with all of those who are fighting what's happening and those stations and segments still providing reliable information (NOT PBS Evening News).
I think all those supporting candidates who are being promoted by enemies of liberal democracy and progressive government here and abroad, and those include today's Republican Party and their agents, should take a good look at what's happening to our nation and decide if that's what they should be doing.
The illiberal left cannot win this election, they can only throw the nation to what's become a far-right, white nativist authoritarian kleptocratic party that's demonstrating very alarming fascistic behaviors. They've shown that's preferable to losing to Democrats, and no one should be a party to that.

(12,919 posts)...that show how various candidates do against Trump, especially in particular states. Those polls might actually influence who I support. But the rest really doesn't much matter, when you get down to it.

(1,086 posts)except that 76% are still looking and the satisfaction rate has dropped. So everyone still has a good chance.
It is good for Bernie as he has always had a firmer base so he is near his floor, it is not good because it also probably means he is closer to his ceiling.
It is good for Biden as he really hasn't lost much ground, it is bad for Biden because so many people are still open and for a front runner the fact that the numbers haven't changed at all between polls means his support has not in anyway firmed up.
It is good for Warren as it looks like her slide has stopped and maybe reversed slightly, it is bad for Warren because she has lost her gender gap.
It is good for Buttigieg as he has risen into long term contention, it is bad for Buttigieg because almost all his gains are concentrated in white women college graduates.
It is good for Klobuchar because she is rising and registering, it is less then good that it isn't more. (without crosstabs hard to say bad).

(2,461 posts)and he is 2nd choice of Biden supporters. 65% say their most important issue is beating Trump. To date, that has skewed the #'s towards Biden, given his overwhelming (20+ points) in SC, but that is changing, so expect more changes.
Pete will be joining Beto soon, but I hope he will find a national voice over the next few years.
I like Amy! I love her strong union stand, and I like her pragmatism.
I think it would be more accurate to say that other contenders should recognize that this is Bernie's floor. His supporters aren't undecided.

(126,259 posts)Bernie still is polling any higher than second.
I guess that we'll be told again that we have to aggregate the results for Warren and Yang with Bernie's despite the fact that we don't know whether either of those will endorse Bernie if they withdraw.
