CBS News Plus Charleston, SC Post And Courier Confirm Sanders SURGE (and use "that word")

Tack on the People's Action Endorsement and Sanders has had quite a week. Here are the facts...

Charleston, SC Post And Courier report

Aided by voters under 50, U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont is continuing his recent national surge in South Carolina, where he has supplanted U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts for second place.

Sanders gained the most support of any candidate since the last Post and Courier-Change Research poll taken in October. He added 7 percentage points to pass Warren, whose backing was unchanged.

Sanders’ poll numbers have risen in other early voting states since Thanksgiving, where he has become the leader in New Hampshire and the second choice in Iowa, according to data tallied by Real Clear Politics.

change research is a paid poll and completely unreliable. In fact it was from 12/6- 12/12 and newer polls show no such thing...but then it is a change research poll.

This is my favorite part....

"Change Research surveyed 998 likely general election voters in South Carolina, including 392 likely Democratic primary voters, from December 6-11, 2019." So who were the others they surveyed? Republicans, independents...who exactly?

2. RCP Averages in South Carolina including this poll:
Thu Dec 19, 2019, 09:13 PM
Dec 2019

Biden - 35.0
Warren - 16.3
Sanders - 15.3
Buttiegieg - 7.7

Looking at it another way:

Biden - 35.0
Warren PLUS Sanders - 31.6

538 doesn't even rate the Post and Courier poll.

The Post and Courier reports news, facts. The poll cited as the foundation of the news story states, as fact...

Biden, Warren, and Sanders Lead the Democratic Primary in South Carolina

That Sanders has gone from heart attack to a leadership position within the South Carolina field in 10 weeks is the epitome of a surge.

I just wish people would stop using a heart attack as a campaign talking point. Bringing it up repeatedly doesn't do any good EXCEPT pointing out that he's in poor health.

Plus, being in second place is NOT a "leadership" position. First place is a "leadership" position, everyone else is in a following position.
