Excerpts: "Weve just been through one of the worst, most acrid, most bitterly divisive weeks in the history of the Republic.Americans appear weary of the incessantly shrill, biting hyperbole of partisan rhetoric, and are desperately hoping for a change. Democrats agree that more than anything, they simply want to know who can beat Donald Trump. Who, they ask, is best able to unify and excite the Democratic Party? Hey, lets rip into each other to find out!!"
"On just the night when America may have looking to find who on the Democratic stage has the potential to restore our national pride, who could right this radically polarized ship, and who could bring our bitterly divided nation together, we got a lot of snotty, snippy, nastygrams launched sideways at other Democrats. Come on, people. We want to find out how big you can be, not how small you really are..."
"Heres the bad news for Biden: no one was paying much attention to him. Not even the moderators. When you are a former Vice President of the United States who is the leading candidate in all the national polls, and your competitors appear to be focusing all their energy on damaging the 37 year-old major of a small midwestern city, you have to wonder about the power of your candidacy. (7,589 posts)Several years ago there was regressive campaign where they were actually discussing on television, in front of the American people who actually had the bigger hands and the "hottest wife". Because apparently if our POTUS has big hands, this is automatically going to solve our inequality issues. And If the POTUS's spouse is "hot", this is going to automatically solve our healthcare issues.
Unlike the R's, our Democratic candidates are discussing policies, how to implement policies, what they believe is right or wrong with ABC or XYZ policy. Yes, there's going to be disagreements. Each one of our candidates has their own ideas and plans on how to correct things that are failing us.
