Yang deletes tweet

Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang posted and later deleted a tweet questioning why Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) was excluded from a video message filmed by a number of candidates running for the party's presidential nomination on Tuesday.

The video, posted Monday by the Democratic National Committee's (DNC) Twitter account, features Yang alongside a slew of other Democratic candidates for president, including Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.).

It's part of a fundraising push for the DNC's Democratic Unity Fund, which works to support whichever candidate wins the Democratic nomination following the primary. Gabbard is not among the candidates in the video.

Let me offer my apologies and a correction.

I should not have made the reference to David Driscoll, Senator Sanders step son whose last job was a jr retail clerk at a snow board shop who was named to lead the prestigious "think tank" named after the Senator and was intended to advance research and policy discussions at the post graduate level even though Driscoll who got a serious 6 figure salary shows no other expertise than snow boarding.

The reason I apologize is that in googling the Institute I find that it was closed lol

https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/434186-sanders-institute-shutting-down-amid-criticism

The Sanders Institute, a think tank founded by the wife and son of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), is shutting down, The Associated Press reported Thursday.

The Vermont institute stopped accepting donations and will suspend all operations by the end of May “so there could not even be an appearance of impropriety,” Jane Sanders told AP.

Critics have said the think tank blurs lines between family, fundraising and campaigns.

. . .

The 2020 Democratic candidate has no role in the institute, which was created after his failed 2016 push.

Speaking to AP, Jane Sanders kept the door open for the institute to begin taking donations again once Bernie Sanders is no longer running for president.

“I think that was the most important thing to do — to not accept donations, because nobody should think that they’re giving money to an organization and that gains them access or favor to anybody else and anybody running for office,” she said in an interview this week.

“It just seemed the responsible thing to do,” Jane Sanders added.

But you are right George II that the Sanders Institute appears to continue to operate as their Web site doesn't indicate that they have closed.

They still love Gabbard

https://www.sandersinstitute.com/about/gabbard

Maybe they aren't closed. Maybe devotees can still make contributions to fund the executive salaries of Jane Sanders and David Driscoll. Who knows maybe they are doing cutting edge research on which wax is optimum on Vermont snowboards at this time of the year.

Any Dem who wants to play nice with the Republicans "for the good of the country" the way we've done it in the past is off my list entirely.

We did that in 2000 w/W. Bush and again in 2004 when W. stole Ohio and again in 2008 when Obama let the financial industry off with no real consequences. All of those missed opportunities to hold people accountable have only emboldened the Republicans and the banksters more.

I'm out on any candidate that goes down this path of saying the DNC isn't providing a fair process.
