are not people I trust in any way. Senator Sanders apparently does trust them, though, and he knows their past record. From Jill Stein voters and others who have made statements that they will not vote for the Democratic nominee unless they like that nominee, there's a troubling issue involved with his staff choices.

These Tweet deletions are troubling, especially the most recent one where the tweet attacked Lewis. It was only deleted after Lewis's disclosure of his pancreatic cancer. That is, to me, damning in the worst way.

I would like to see Senator Sanders make a public statement about that deletion and about the staffer who did it. It seems unconscionable to me. Were I Senator Sanders, I would fire that staff member forthwith. Will he?

As if deleting that tweet could somehow erase the sentiment she expressed...the same ugly sentiment that Sanders supporters showed Rep Lewis at the 2016 Democratic National Convention.

Some people have said in these forums, "well that tweet is from years ago". As if three years is so far removed that it somehow excuses a disgusting attack on an American Icon,a status which John Lewis most certainly meets.

A deletion alone is not sufficient in my book. If she's truly ashamed of what she posted, apologize sincerely. We're still waiting for that one.

I supported him during the primaries, but when it appeared he wasn't going to be a good sport about losing to Clinton and his fanboys were assholes at the convention, that was enough. It didn't help that he took his own sweet time about getting out and campaigning for her after the convention. I liked what he had to say and appreciated his progressive influence, but that crap convinced me that he would continue to be divisive. He's confirmed that suspicion during the current campaign by hiring the likes of Gray and Sirota.

This also supports my strong belief that if elected he would be an ineffective president because he doesn't seem to be able to get along with people who don't agree with him. Biden has taken some flak for his comments to the effect that he would try to work with the GOP despite the fact that the GOP doesn't seem inclined to cooperate with any Democrat - but it looks like Bernie, having repeatedly dumped on the Democratic so-called "establishment," won't even be able to work with Democrats. A president needs the strong support of his/her own party in order to get things done. After all his bashing of the DNC I don't think Bernie would have that support.

If you see a candidate surrounding him or herself with disreputable campaign staff, that is a good indication of what you would get should that candidate become a president: a staff and cabinet full of similarly disreputable persons.

There are so many red flags here, I don't understand how people can continue to defend them. It's not what a candidate says but what they do that is important in assessing character and ethics. This press secretary and speechwriter/senior adviser should be fired immediately. Short of that, there is no trust.
