Fox News: Tulsi Gabbard has dropped out of the Democratic race, she hasn't actually dropped out yet

Fox News on Tuesday reported that Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard had “dropped out” of the race — but the network later corrected the report.

During a segment about impeachment, Fox News host Heather Childers said that Gabbard had quit the race.

“We do have Tulsi Gabbard, who has now dropped out of the Democratic race,” Childress announced before noting that Gabbard had spoken out against impeachment.

Several minutes later, Childers came back with a correction.

“And just to clarify, she hasn’t actually dropped out yet,” the Fox News host revealed.

It's not like, for instance, the British Labor Party, which I believe actually has membership which I imagine includes membership dues, etc. Some (according to Wikipedia, 20) US states don't even have partisan voter registration. Lyndon LaRouche was a regular Democratic candidate, albeit the DNC did not allow him to have delegates at the 1996 Democratic convention. Rather than membership organizations, party "membership" generally seems defined by voter registration (where applicable) or self-identification. In the case of candidates, I don't know of cases where a party can bar a candidate from using a certain party identification.

If (yes, I said "IF" ) she is actually planning to stab Dems in the back with a third party run, then she should at least be honest enough to do it openly. Of course demonizing Democrats on Fox News doesn't have quite the same impact if she's no longer a Democrat.

And if she is not engaged in any malign behavior or schemes, then she really needs to explain herself to supporters of the party in which she claims to belong. I, for one, WOULD listen--albeit skeptically.

Gabbard did precious little campaigning in her run. She's no Nader.

Sure as hell she has the Kooch slot tied up at Fax - the 'radical left' Dem who can be relied on to knife the Party.
