(1,812 posts)Do you have any evidence to support your suspicions ? ...No you do not . Can't you guys do better than this ?... How about criticizing Bernie's support of Biden's disastrous Crime Bill ? ... His vote against the Brady Bill ? .. Again, Can we elevate the discourse ? . Let's compare the long public service record of the 2 men and decide who we wish to support .

(73,726 posts)they barely catch the ones that go over the limit.
how much easier can it get than to set the bot on $10/mo, and let them fly?
it just doesnt make sense that he is stagnant in the polls, but topping out the $$$$

(15,463 posts)you're concern about bots and trolls, and the very real ongoing impact is absolutely valid. But you need to stay in that lane, and not be drifting out into Russians "funding" this or that candidate. Not without some darned good evidence.
primary today, I would vote for: Undecided
betsuni
(29,077 posts)Nobody has said Sanders was or is directly funded by Russia.
Karl Rove's super PAC and another Republican billionaire's PAC paid for pro-Bernie ads in the last election. Funding doesn't have to go directly to the candidate to benefit them.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden

(15,463 posts)that FUNDING is going to the CAMPAIGN.
how much easier can it get than to set the bot on $10/mo, and let them fly?
it just doesnt make sense that he is stagnant in the polls, but topping out the $$$$"
and, yes .. there is little a candidate (like Sanders) can do about this kind of outside interference .. other than make clear that his campaign is not involved.

(31,059 posts)The OP is saying the Sanders campaign is somehow in cahoots with it.
The Bernie bashing has to fucking stop on DU and elsewhere. Like it or not, he has followers and a significant amount of support.
Bashing Senator Sanders itself is the end to a Russian op, as it divides the Democratic Party - and Putin wins.

(5,213 posts)You previously claimed, in that post you had taken down, that Bernie received donations only from 100,000 people, and that bots made up the rest of the million plus people who donated to Bernie in 16.
Thats not real.
Whats real is that a LOT of people found him to be a credible candidate in 16, and yes, he worked his butt off for Hillary after he suspended his campaign in 16.
And its REAL that he is a leading or a second place candidate TODAY in multiple states. And its REAL that he polls significantly with all kinds of people- including a significant number of republicans that I know that like Bernie better than any if our other candates.
So lets both get real. Now. And support the candidate of our choice, without tearing down other candidates. Thats what we are supposed to do.
Whoever wins the nomination, I will support, work for, make calls for, and stand at the polls handing out literature for.
Today, Im supporting Bernie. Not a single vote has yet been cast, and there are at least 4 candidates who can still win, based on fundraising and polling to this point.
I will support my candidate now, and I will support WHOEVER WINS the nomination in the fall. And I will do it without making disparaging remarks about any of our candidates today.
Will you say the same?

Just days after ending his campaign and endorsing Hillary Clinton for president, Sen. Bernie Sanders is preparing to take his message to the printed page.
Thomas Dunne Books told The Associated Press on Thursday it will publish Sanders' Our Revolution: A Future to Believe In. The book is scheduled to come out Nov. 15, a week after election day. It will include both his policy ideas for the future and reflections on his surprisingly strong run in the primaries.

The publisher said he and Sanders reached an agreement a few weeks ago.
"Throughout the year, both Bernie and his wife, Jane, kept records and notes. Sanders is using these as the basis for much of the text," Dunne said, adding that Sanders will write the book himself.

(15,425 posts)we have to realize that anybody can come on here and troll us. Anybody.
All of us must be watchful, especially of those people who like to stir the pot just to create conflict. I remember '16 when I was a big Bernie supporter on here, and I'll tell you that I KNOW we got trolled. On both sides. Because as you say, 'that is the game.'
I really like this site, and the friends I've made here. There are some really good people.
But do be aware. Always, ALWAYS, in the face of a big firestorm on a thread, ask yourself who might benefit from the polarization that is happening. If it is Russia or others who want to tear us down, then we probably have a troll at the bottom of it.

(100,133 posts)All the old methods in new guise: infiltration, sabotage, agitprop...
All our candidates, no matter who, need to be aware and need to denounce and reject such things. It's incredibly easy to see who Putin favors -- state-run Russian television is broadcast in English for your convenience! Nobody's message is so pure that it cannot be co-opted, undermined, and destroyed by the great enemy of out time if they are apathetic about it.
Putin wants to destabilize and destroy all the democracies of the West -- it is his stated goal. The entire world is experiencing a wave of authoritarian/autocratic/fascist governments rising to power -- mostly disguised as "populist."
As Michelle Obama has said: Don't be fooled.
You have my thanks.

(113,954 posts)and US-RW are manipulating us. I'm sure not only with Gabbard, but likely other candidates. The whole point is disruption/manipulation/weakening the opposition to Trump, so we should be aware.
I like the rest of the field and would be pleased with any of the top tier for sure , but for me the entire point is WHO CAN BEAT DONALD TRUMP? Sorry, but in this election it ALL comes down to that.
Stay focused, folks. Please. Let's not trash each other for bringing up valid concerns.
