Joe BidenCongratulations to our presumptive Democratic nominee, Joe Biden!

Goodbye Marianne Williamson

I was never a supporter of her White House bid, but I used to like her a lot more.

Much of what she said during the campaign was bothersome to me. I actually got mad at her when she tweeted that non-citizens should not be allowed to buy land in the United States. That was shocking. I really don't like blood and soil arguments, no matter who makes them.
If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

4. Not for long. Nobody survives long without literally a single staffer.

I imagine she announces the end of her campaign within a week.

After her, I don't see anybody else dropping out before Iowa.

After Iowa, I think Booker, Gabbard and Steyer drop out. After Super Tuesday, Yang, Klobuchar and Bloomberg drop out, leaving Biden, Bernie, Warren and Buttigieg to finish the primary.

They are still in the race at the moment.

15. I think you have the wrong prediction date for all three of them.

Patrick may come to his senses and drop out very soon. If he doesn't then I see him staying in through New Hampshire.

I think it is quite likely that Bennet will drop out before Iowa, possibly within the next week.

Delaney seems to want to have a full presidential primary experience before he departs, so I think he will last until New Hampshire and then withdraw.

13. I think the schedule of withdrawals will be a little different than you are predicting.

First, I think Michael Bennet will drop out soon. I don't see him staying in through Iowa.

Second, I think Booker and Gabbard will stay in through New Hampshire and then leave the race. I also see Klubuchar and Yang dropping out after New Hampshire.

Third, I think Patrick will either come to his senses and drop out very soon or he will drop out after New Hampshire.

Fourth, I think that Steyer will definitely stay in though Nevada. It is possible he stays in through South Carolina and Super Tuesday. If he stays for SC then he will almost definitely stay in for three more days until Super Tuesday. But I don't see him leaving after IA or NH when he is polling better in NV and SC.

3. no fan of blood-and-soilage here either, but...

Williamson sort of had a point. Most first-world countries do impose regulatory restrictions on overseas investors buying real estate, and because the USA doesn't, it's become the go-to destination for overseas billionaires to store and launder money in the form of land and buildings, thereby contributing strongly to how hostile our housing market is to people who just want a place to live. Obama made moves late in his administration to start reining this in, bringing our policies closer to those used to control this problem in Europe, but I think the attempt is dead now. Williamson may just have oversimplified this idea.

16. I was reading about a dual homicide by stabbing in England.

The woman's former husband is the suspect. The thing that surprised me was the former couple owned a 800,000 Pound home. Maybe the photos were bad, but the house looked sort of low level for 800,000 Pounds. So housing inflation is everywhere, typically striking the most desirable places to live. I am sure that the same thing is seen in France, Germany, Holland, ect.

Sadly right now so true for magats
She was right about how dark the nation has turned. Offering love and light was not a bad thing compared to trump but time to step down now her voice was heard +maybe she can work on that dept for child and youth citizens
I could not take her seriously enough to consider, but respects for some of her campaign thoughts

That's on you. I wouldn't.

I find such an attitude to be horrifying. Using lethal force because someone is not a citizen. Killing because a non-citizen owns property. Taking lives over this is... I can't even wrap my head around that.

Other countries may invade to take over and we fight them to stop them. Another way is to just buy the country.

28. If you can buy property or land

and live there your whole life, what is the need to even bother becoming a citizen. It seems citizens should have the right to buy land. Plus I am looking at the big picture, not of some individual who is a friend.

I don't know anyone personally who is a non-citizen who owns land here, but I have heard stories of the Chinese buying up farm land in the midwest, which I don't think is right. Or the Japanese buying up New York city property and buildings for their own use. Also I know for instance Russell Crowe owns a large piece of land in Australia but he is not a citizen.

But again in the big picture, another country could buy up another countries land with this loophole and then what. You could have another country owning whole parts of a state.

27. Thank you for adding this.

Iím not very familiar with her work but after reading her platform(one of the best in the field) I started watching some of her events. I really only have positive things to say about what I saw.

About a year or so ago someone recommended I listen to some guided sleep meditations by Jason Stephenson. I think that is his name. I listen to one four or five nights a week now. Donít laugh at me if he is considered ďcommercialized.Ē 😁 Iím really unfamiliar with the industry. What I am familiar with is how much they relax me.

If you have the name of someone else I should try I would appreciate it.

29. +1.

Since she's going, I will say some of her messages are much nicer and more positive than waving crosses to frighten away demons, although I really don't appreciate being cast as a different sort of demon when it is she, not I, who shares responsibility for helping elect Trump.

She is mostly affirming (I think) that the climate holocaust is real to some who might prefer simplistic supernatural explanations for fires and floods to the extreme complexities and hard-work solutions of science. That's good if consistently true.

31. I'll also add...

...that being on the right side of an issue is great and all, but it isn't enough for the presidency. A candidate has to be on the right side because a reliable means of discernment, whether it is empiricism, logic, ethics, or some combination thereof, led them there. It's the only assurance my candidate will be on the right side more or less every time.

32. Agree entirely. I admit I never looked at her beyond

learning about what she's famous and admired by many for. She supported Sanders in 2016, though, so as a lifelong liberal Democrat, , I knew that her character, ideology and judgement would very different from what I require in anyone running for office.

We have a liberal democratic republic, for god's sake! Imho, to elect politicians who'd approve systematic deception of those who trust, who'd approve subversion of belief in the validity of democracy itself, and who'd even approve seducing followers into hoping for successful election theft, would be to risk everyone's future wellbeing along with our democracy's and to sacrifice our own ideological souls to false prophets.
