Malinowski endorses Biden for presiden

Rep. Tom Malinowski (D-Ringoes) endorsed Joe Biden for president, becoming the first prominent New Jersey Democrat to take sides following the withdrawal of Cory Booker from the race on Monday.

“We need a nominee who can calm partisan divisions, unify the country, and, once elected, rebuild our government institutions and leadership in the world,” Malinowski said. “Joe Biden will run the campaign we need to win in November; defend the middle class, and restore decency, honesty, and respect for the rule of law to the White House.”

Malinowski joined the rest of the New Jersey congressional delegation in endorsing Booker last February.

The freshman 7th district congressman said that Biden “already enjoys diverse support within our party and that he knows how to lift up the voices of all Americans.”

“As a former Assistant Secretary of State, I am also eager to support a nominee with the experience to restore the place of respect America once occupied on the world stage,” Malinowski said. “Joe Biden can do that.”

Is this like sanders revolution? Where are the new voters coming from to fuel the populist revolution? Why are these new voters not showing up in the polls?

you choose not to i assume. 50% (give or take) don't get involved. Sanders or Warren has that ability to change that.

10. Not meaningless, but certainly not a huge game changer unless they answer a concern

For instance, I think the Kerry and Kennedy endorsement in early 2008 were one of many important factors in Obama winning. The reason is that their strong endorsements helped with people who worried that although Obama was impressive, he was still young and new to DC. In contrast, though Kerry made a great case for Biden, it is not clear that it was any different than the case already made in Biden ads.

Malinkowski has an impressive background as a State Department diplomat, but he is barely known.

He won in swing District 7 in New Jersey after too many years in the claws of repubs.

"Joe Biden will run the campaign we need to win in November; defend the middle class, and restore decency, honesty, and respect for the rule of law to the White House

He was in an article where he was praising Nancy Pelosi for her advice that they run on Health Care.

Amanpour interviews Congressman-elect Tom Malinowski (D flipped seat that was R since '81)

I want to play something that maybe speaker, certainly Leader Pelosi said to me in September because a lot of people said well you know what, the Democrats don't really have a message to complete with Make America Great Again.

There's no slogan, there's no clear strategy but this is where she laid out in September.

What we're about in our campaign is that we are for the people, for lower health care costs, lowering prescription drug prices.

We're for raising pay checks, lowering healthcare costs, increasing paychecks by building the infrastructure of America and for cleaning up government to make sure people understand that the people's interest, not the special interests are served here in the United States Capitol.

So there she was laying out a strategy and one that clearly is a winning strategy

I think until the very end, this campaign was mostly run on health care, it was run on protecting kids from gun violence, building infrastructure in my state, in New Jersey.

I think the last couple of weeks I think Trump inserted himself into the campaign in ways that were terrible for the country but also bad for his party.

It was fear, demonization and conspiracy theories and in a district like mine, that did not play well, especially after the shootings in the Pittsburgh synagogue because we could link, very clearly, the president's words to one of the worst acts of violence, religious violence, hateful violence in American history and our positive message on practical issues like healthcare, infrastructure, gun violence, the economy, contrasted with fear, was very advantageous for us.
