Tucker Carlson Delivers GOP a Warning: Bernie Sanders Could Win 'Many Thousands' of Trump Voters

Mediaite

By Josh Feldman Jan 20th, 2020, 9:08 pm

Fox News’ Tucker Carlson warned Republicans tonight about how 2020 isn’t in the bag for them and how Bernie Sanders in particular could beat President Donald Trump and even win over some of his supporters.

“Republicans are starting to think that victory is assured, and that’s a mistake,” he said. “America remains as divided as it was three years ago… Trump could lose. Will he lose? Well, that depends entirely what he runs on.”

Carlson said Trump’s “MAGA” message clearly resonated with voters who saw Trump as someone who could solve their problems.

The economic numbers now, Carlson said, are good but things are “not fixed”:

You're fooling yourself.

Sanders and socialism would be a step too far for them. They'd just stay home. It's the very suburban college educated voters who helped turn the house blue. They're in the Dem camp now, they fit better in the Dem camp than in the GOP now. However, they aren't willing to go tot he far left.

The democratic party is a coalition, and the far left is a very small part of that. You can't expect for democrats to stick with somebody who has spent his entire life railing against democrats.

This is why he's unelectable. He loses the center, there most democrats are.

as Trump ran on in 2016. He's saying to these voters "I know your life is hard. I will make it better". That's a very powerful message.

I've posted this before, but in the 2016 primary in Pennsylvania, Sanders won about all the state's "red" counties. These places aren't full of leftist socialists, but they are full of struggling lower-to-middle class families who were receptive to this populist pitch.

...only Tulsi Gabbard could give him a run for their support among Democratic candidates.

https://www.newsweek.com/ann-coulter-bernie-sanders-borders-policy-2020-1399991

Right-wing pundit and immigration hawk Ann Coulter said she could vote and perhaps even work for democratic socialist Bernie Sanders if he stuck to his "original position" on U.S. border policy.

Sanders, the independent senator for Vermont and a candidate in the Democratic primary for the party's 2020 presidential nomination, is liberal on many immigration issues but is staunchly opposed to open borders, despite the policy's popularity on the left.

"If he went back to his original position, which is the pro blue-collar position—I mean, it totally makes sense with him," Coulter said in an appearance on PBS's Firing Line with Margaret Hoover on Wednesday night.

"If he went back to that position, I'd vote for him, I might work for him. I don't care about the rest of the socialist stuff. Just, can we do something for ordinary Americans?"
