Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumjust checking in. Where are you today? How are you feeling about your candidate?
Or other candidates? Did you read the NYT endorsement? Did that change any of your thinking?
How is the impeachment trial going for you?
I'm still with Liz. Nothing that has been said or written has persuaded me otherwise. I'm a stubborn old lady I guess.
Anyway, check in if you feel up to it...

(63,926 posts)His idea about giving people money to spend, invest, etc is sound in many ways. The money he'd give goes right back into the economy or is spent on launching a new business. Mostly, it goes back to the local economy for big ticket (i.e. cars) and everyday expenses (supermarket, drugstore, local services). It certainly takes away a lot of anxiety which prevent people from being creative and productive.
I have a ot of respect for Yang's very thoughtful ideas.

(115,103 posts)I'm glad you like the idea of a trickle up economy. I've been hoping we would try that for decades. It just makes sense.

I talked to my Senator's office today to thank him for his good efforts. He is Chris Murphy of CT. He is often on Morning Joe and brings sanity to that show.
That's where I am today.

I like Yang,Steyer and Bloomburg but I really hope that they get their pet projects out there and then pour money nationally on races.

(63,926 posts)Methinks he designed it this way: to be the money to take Trump out. Interesting battlefield tactic.

(3,986 posts)My declared DU preference is nothing more than an answer to the question of whom I would vote for today.
My actual vote will depend who's still running by May 2 when my state has its primary, and whether or not the eventual nominee is still in doubt.

(4,490 posts)Seems we're doing the best job possible, all things considering.
On my candidate, it's not changing from Warren, though I also still think it's likely Biden will win.
My current order of preference is
1. Warren
2. Sanders
3. Biden
4. Bloomberg
5. Some other candidates with no real shot
6. Buttegieg
.

100. Gabbard
I like Yang, but think he has no business being in the White House. He's more of an activist candidate to bring attention to his ideas. Would like to see him in Congress or some other role though.
On the general election, I'm not confident. I think Warren, Sanders, Biden, and Bloomberg would all win a fair election, but it's not going to be fair. We'll take our best shot though, and hopefully put up the right numbers in the right states to overcome any shenanigans.

(8,144 posts)blue no matter who. But I will be over the moon if our new President is Joe Biden. He is the best bet for righting the ship of state and his tested leadership and experience will see us through upcoming crises that may unfold in the world. I am utterly enthusiastic.

(20,709 posts)I like all the candidates. I wish they would attack each other less.
If I had to pick someone to be president, it would be Warren or Bernie. But I don't know if they are the most likely to beat Trump. I don't have a solid idea of who I think that would be, so I'm still undecided.

(8,620 posts)Work is really stressful right now, and life is also currently stressing me out, so I am trying to just avoid getting too consumed by the outrage, a difficult task right now. I heard a bit of Schiff today when I went to lunch, and he was magnificent as usual, detailing the procedures and rules used in all of the previous impeachment proceedings.
