Does a newspaper endorsement make a difference?
I can't say that my opinion about a candidate is affected by a newspaper's endorsement. I'll read it to see what they have to say and consider their opinion but if they happen to endorse the candidate I choose to vote for, it's a coincidence. I have a lot of respect for the Washington Post, the New York Times and my local Chicago Tribune. I respect their opinion. But in a primary election, I've got my own agenda.

1. Newspaper endorsements mean very little nowadays.
Circulations are down except in a few major cases. Information is widely available on the internet for voters to research the candidates and form their own opinions.

4. Yes. I think their importance has diminished from their heights, but to win an endorsement
like the DMR is a feather in Elizabeth Warren's cap.

6. Back in 2016
fewer than 5 newspapers in the entire United States endorsed Trump; he won anyway. So, no, I don't think it makes a difference anymore.

7. It does to some people, for better or worse.
I don’t think it has the institutional sway it used to. Certainly various media have their political perspective.
