A friend who's for Sanders just told me "I'm only Bernie or bust for the primaries"

I love this! I think that's how 99% of Berners are. We've seen too much hair rending over whether any Democrat will failed to show up in November. Regardless of the nominee, it's our job to make the case that this is how we save democracy. It's not forces outside of our control that will divide the forces against Trump

I wasn't particularly fond of Biden or Bernie as a nominee when this campaign started. But honestly, I've warmed up to both of them. Whoever we nominate, I will joyfully support.

(Maybe you don't know it yet, but you will too)
If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

We are in primary mode right now, but once we have a nominee, voters will shift gears and adapt to the nominee. I'm sure there will be a handful of exceptions, but too few to matter. In the meantime, Trump will continue to do outrageous and dangerous things, which will motivate Democrats to get to the polls.

He/she has one vote in the primary. It’s for Bernie. So then there is nothing to bust.

Bernie or bust means: if Bernie doesn’t get the nomination then something will be bust (the convention; the election by refusing to vote or voting third party). It’s a threat.

That’s the whole meaning of the phrase. Maybe his/her thinking skills are not quite there?

For the record, I have a huge amount of respect for Bernie Sanders. He's fought the good fight and brought his best talents and has been strikingly uncorrupted by Washington. He's not my presidential pick, but I believe our country is far better off for having received his services and public office

who already have good ideas about who they'll be supporting after Sanders is out.

Same as 2016.

Let's not insult the majority of Sanders supporters by mistaking them for the trumpsters, true believers, and general wingnuts who will once again refuse to vote Democrat. He has fewer mainstream supporters this time, so that 2016's 24% now seem to be about 30%, but they haven't grown in numbers. They're the same anti-Democratic sorts who use every election to try to cause trouble, and Sanders is once again their delivery system of choice.

primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden
