Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumI'm switching to Amy
I loved Kamala first, moved to Liz because I thought she had a chance...now I'm changing to Amy because after researching the candidates, I now believe that Amy is the most effective in government.

(48,968 posts)I don't think she can get the nomination this year. But she's young enough to run again, and she'd be a great VP for Biden. (Her one drawback as a potential VP for Biden, Warren or Sanders is that a lot of Dems want a POC on the ticket, and that's an important consideration, too.)

(1,086 posts)That is really one of the reasons I support her.
Ever since Harry Reid right at the start made her one of his Republican whisperers and put her on the Rules committee with Mitch. She has had an up close view of his rise and methods from both sides.
She has always used the self interest of Republicans to move her priorities forward and only to be thwarted by McConnell time and again. She measures herself by her successes and McConnell as the anti-legislator goes right to her basic self image.
The thought of her with the power to turn that on Mitch warms my heart.

(65 posts)I, too, switched from Kamala to Amy. I am impressed by her track record as a senator and think she has a very good chance to beat Trump.

(6 posts)I'm really amazed at how active and effective Amy has been in the Senate. Evidence she would be an effective president in getting something done to better people's lives.

(5,042 posts)The "mean" smear has faded. And it's mostly sexist bullshit anyway. She's tough to work for. So what. No man would get this slap.
What is her baggage?
If someone hems and haws and still says they'd vote Trump over her, you were never getting them. They are full blown MAGA and probably never voted for a Democrat in their life.
Other than being a little corny, what's to dislike?
I've been a huge fan since her election and felt since her early days of appearing on Maddow she had first woman President all over her.
