Thank you Rashida Tlaib for showing us how we will defeat Donald Trump.

Tlaib was upset that Hillary Clinton attacked Bernie by saying "nobody likes him." She let her protectiveness of Bernie get the best of her, and attacked back by booing Hillary at a Bernie event.

That was wrong of her.

But.

She did the right thing and apologized gracefully. This is how we defeat Trump. When we make mistakes to each other, we apologize. Instead of escalating, de-escalate. She didn't say "Hillary needs to apologize first." She went ahead and did the right thing, and put the incident behind us.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:

It's the first de-escalation of this whole thing. And it could have been much weaker. Like she could have made excuses like "I wasn't booing Hillary, I was just booing the words Hillary said" or whatever.

She's in a spot, because if she over-apologizes it will annoy the Bernie people who are still upset about what Hillary said, and if she under-apologizes it will upset the anti-Bernie people. Pretty good given the circumstances.

"if she over-apologizes it will annoy the Bernie people who are still upset about what Hillary said, and if she under-apologizes it will upset the anti-Bernie people. "

Democrats always seem to be way too sensitive about individual things that, while they do indeed matter, are simply not the most pressing collective priority, and having to walk these sorts of fine lines is a real distraction and disservice to our elected officials and candidates who's skills and attention should be focused on the big picture: defeating Republicans.

As someone around here posted earlier: we can get back to infighting once democracy is off life support, but we can't afford to be doing it right now.

I saw a weak attempt to back away from a damaging thing she said. Does she have a primary opponent in her district?

She said that she let "dissapointment" about what "HRC said about Bernie and his supporters" get the best of her.

That's kind of like saying, I'm sorry I called her a whore in that business meeting. I was just so disappointed in her about what it must be doing to her kids that she's dating someone so soon after her husband died.
