https://www.politico.com/news/2020/01/31/dnc-superdelegates-110083In conversations on the sidelines of a DNC executive committee meeting and in telephone calls and texts in recent days, about a half-dozen members have discussed the possibility of a policy reversal to ensure that so-called superdelegates can vote on the first ballot at the partys national convention. Such a move would increase the influence of DNC members, members of Congress and other top party officials, who now must wait until the second ballot to have their say if the convention is contested.

(25,487 posts)6 DNC members.... out of 450..... discussed something.
There is no push for this to happen in this election cycle, and any change won't take effect until 2024.
Please stop spreading misinformation.

(1,997 posts)We need to call it out from the beginning and try to discourage this type of behavior as much as possible. And...people who may have fallen for this story need to reexamine their way of reading and absorbing the news. I don't say that at all in a mean way, but it is important that each of us take responsibility to critically analyze the incoming news so that we are not led by half truths meant to divide us. We are so much stronger when educated, which is exactly why the repubs try to constantly defund education.

(7,358 posts)They just changed the rules so that Bloomberg can join the debates,of course that was after a nice little donation of $300,000 dollars.
Bernie supporters won't stand for this, it just reeks of being a rigged system. If Bernie is such a thorn in the side of the DNC, then why did they allow him to run as a Democrat in the first place? They sure as hell don't want him running as a third party candidate.

(92,116 posts)that Bloomberg still hasnt qualified for the next debate, and completely ignored the fact that the DNC made it clear at the beginning that the rules would get tougher as the process went on by increasing qualifications in debates based on his ghee poll criteria

(7,715 posts)It's a "small group". I'm sure a "small group" of "the Bern's" supporters have done equal or worse things.
Is the goal to create division?
If "the Bern" becomes a Democrat in name and in substance, explains the George Wallace comment (https://www.thedailybeast.com/bernie-sanders-described-segregationist-george-wallace-as-sensitive-in-1972-article), and stops disparaging women candidates, he might have a shot.
Not sure if he's able to do this, though.
I heard 2016 in DU was bad. I wasn't here then, but it truly does seem like "the Bern" needs to cool it in 2020.

(1,173 posts)From the politico article one of the text messages said:
"It would be hard though. We could force a meeting or on the floor".
What this tells me is the DNC is admitting Bernie has a real chance of winning the nomination.
Things are on track for a brokered convention that will be decided on the third round.

(7,715 posts)are talking about about "the Bern" and his support for George Wallace and his belief that a woman can't be President?
What in tarnation is that all about?
This tells me that "the Bern" has NO chance of winning of the nomination (b/t/w, become a Democrat first!)
