This is one reason I struggle to maintain patience with those too young to vote in 2000, who now tell me I am ignoring their concerns and that I don't know anything.

The "not a dime's worth of difference" crowd poisoned the well 20 years ago. Then they want to tell me today that same crowd isn't doing the same thing again, when it smells exactly the same.

Please reconsider what you are saying.

There is no doubt there is a battle going on for the soul of the Democratic Party. And it doesn't have to be ugly. Wouldn't it be nice if everyone could agree that at least there are some core values that inexorably tie the two sides together?

edit: the battle, if you want to call it that (I prefer debate) should be about how to get there. That doesn't have to include hair styles, heart attacks vs. Aneurysms etc.

it's not the philosophy of left versus far left for the soul of the party... if it was that I wouldn't like Warren either... but it's the tactics to try be the leaders of the party...

Populist just means an expression of the populous. That's why Trump won and Hillary didn't, despite beating Trump in popular vote - because the country is vast and fly-over is sick of being fly-over and there is a leavening of votes btwn. high population and high acreage.
Bernie is populist, and he is not Trump.
Populist is not a party. You know that, so don't try the equivocation thing.

A populist that wasn't a con, a populist that actually has a long track record of supporting the population: well, there just wasn't that choice last time around, and now there is, and the world has changed, and you can keep losing if you don't want to see that.

Where I live, I really appreciate when my neighbours share their moose and deer with me. Not everyone lives in a city and there is a place for hunting. I also really like freshly killed fish.
You can't take that away from people.
My family is from just north of Vermont, and we all live on this stuff. People are poor. Lots of Metis. Way of life.

Edit: hey, and I just want to say that maybe they could be not 'poor' but they are happy with what the earth and sea gives and don't want to compete in the big world, which to my mind is a great blessing to have been raised in that tradition.

You seem to have some one sided outrage.

Sarandon is a nasty piece of work who couldn’t have been more wrong or harmful and is back to spread her FUD again. Why does Bernie surround himself with people who attack the Democratic Party and Democrats instead of focusing on the GOP?

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

That is if she is halfway SANE!!! With our current electoral structure I will never support a 3rd party candidate. In some states it may be safe, but popular vote means something too.
