Related: About this forumToobin: I love #Iowa, but the caucus is an anti-democratic disgrace
Ran across this thanks to a retweet by the Hoarse Whisperer -- and FWIW, kudos to all those bravely doing their best with the Iowa caucus system, but I do wish it could be changed to a regular primary with secret ballots:

I love #Iowa, but the caucus is an anti-democratic disgrace - no secret ballot, no absentee voting, no actual vote totals, absurd 15% rule, and nutty multiple rounds. What an absurd way to pick a nominee.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden

(14,971 posts)1. Caucuses are so bizarre to me. I can't imagine not being able to walk into a polling booth and
vote for who I want to. One Iowan on Twitter said he wouldn't be able to caucus because he had to work. Wtf? Caucuses are designed to be exclusionary and I wouldn't react well to other people telling me how to vote.
