The ugly truth about this upcoming election

Incumbents are expected to win or lose their own re-elections. It matters little if at all whom they run against. Generally, the economy is the defining issue of re-election. As such, there isn't really an issue of "who can be Trump the most". He'll win or lose regardless of who we nominate. The nation didn't choose Jimmy Carter, they chose NOT to have Ford. The nation didn't choose Clinton, they chose NOT to have Bush (who reversed his "read my lips" pledge). As such, it isn't all that important the candidate we choose to defeat Trump. It is important that if we defeat Trump, we end up with the President we actually want.

Vote for the primary candidate you want to be president. Support whom ever wins the nomination.

it seems we do a 180 and pick someone totally opposite.
The crook Nixon gave us Jimmy Carter Iran took him out. We went from a senile Reagan to a young Clinton. In 2000 Gore actually won. But we got a incompetent W that got us into a war based on lies. Then we got 8 years of Obama with nobody going to prison to the most dishonest person imaginable. So hopefully we do same with Trump. I fear if we lose in 2020 there may not be any more elections.

The most germane and pertinent insight any politician in America has ever had.

The Dow, Inflation, and Unemployment matter more than every other issue put together to average normal American voters. DU has a vastly disproportionate number of people who even begin to give a shit about things like kids in cages, race, or climate change.

The vast majority of them pay little attention to politics and when they do, it is so superficial that personality and image matter the most. They are generally opposed to changing presidents. I'm not sure how to get to them if there isn't an economic collapse, no matter how small.

Given what a blatant racist, sexist, homophobic hypocrite of demonstrable dishonesty 45 is, I think an approval near 49% demonstrates that a good economy will make a near majority support nearly anything. It the Economy was in the tank, his ratings would, I speculate, be nearer 20 percent than 50.

November will tell.

Not climate change, not kids in cages, not fucking land-mining the border or nuking Tehran. The Economy.
