My resolution to this caucus schmaucus issue and other primary issues.

1) only democrats get to vote in their primaries. Look the convincing to get others to support are in the general.
2) get rid of the damned caucuses. They are literally stupid. Unfair to voters. Are representative of pretty much nothing. Primaries only.
3) regional primaries. Northeast. West. South. Midwest. Etc. Spread over 1 months time (for voting schedules).

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

But a regional Primary doesn't give you a chance to engage with voters... brooklynite Feb 2020 #4
Yes it does. They have a year to campaign. Just get the voting done in primaries. boston bean Feb 2020 #5

Whether Iowa in representative or not, and whether the Caucus is practical or not, starting in a small State is beneficial because it gives less established campaigns a chance to catch fire. A regional Primary will be run primarily with TV ads.

primary today, I would vote for:

Large rallies in large population centers and advertising only.

.. in 2016 we only had maybe 3 candidates so not so much of a cluster. When the field is this big you just wander around wondering where to go and what to do and if your candidate didn't make threshold then you get to go make new friends! We have a primary this year so no caucus and since we are all mail in (pre stamped!) i get to have fun staying in my jammies and voting.
