Here's a solid prediction: there will be an Iowa Caucus in 2024

It may bear no resemblance to what we went through yesterday, and it may be called something else, but there will NOT be a Primary. How do I know? Because notwithstanding what the DNC wants, Primaries are administered by and paid for by the State Government. In Iowa, the Republican-controlled Government is happy with the Caucus system and won't implement a Primary for the sake of the Democrats. So the IDP will be obligated to undertake the Presidential balloting again.

What likely will be eliminated is the "all at the same time" participation and the horse-trading between rounds. There are other States with a Caucus runs for an entire day, and voters come in, cast a preference vote and leave. The only difference between this and a Caucus is that the Party will administer it.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

They say that change in science comes one funeral at a time. Change in politics is even slower.

The DNC controls the calendar... and will move someone else ahead of Iowa to go first.

At our caucus in Iowa City, they "passed the hat" — a couple of envelopes, really — to pay for the rental of the middle school gym, the sound system, and other accoutrements. Of course, all the workers were volunteers.

primary today, I would vote for:

Perhaps something similar will happen to the republicans worse then 2012/2026 and they will drop for primary 2028. Keep in mind that 2024 will make our primary look like hardly anybody ran. I’m guessing at least 30 republicans run in 2024. Maybe more.

primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden
